Kobe goes for 81

Just figured this deserved a mention...not too many NBA fans here (I don't include myself in that group either), but the second most points in an NBA game ever for Mr. Bryant. 28-46 from the floor, 7-13 from three and 18-20 from the FT line.

There's no such thing as defense in the NBA, who believes there to be such a thing? And also, Jerome Bettis would fit in nicely as he's the "Bus" and there's lots of Buses seen going to the hoop.

He'd be tough to stop on the drive but might be a bit short to be a power forward! Then again, Charles Barkley wasn't the tallest guy either and he managed to perform pretty well.

In Bill Parcell's language Kobie is a "Biscuit Short" of being a power forward. He's just not packing enough weight to play inside and underneath the basket night after night.

Charles Barkley on the other hand didn't miss too many biscuits.

Kobie has shown before when he gets on a rolls and starts hitting his jumper he's close to unstoppable.

I was referring to Jerome Bettis...golf-a-holic's post. Sorry for the confusion.

The bit about Barkley is funny though!

I've watched a couple of Laker games the last several week. Kobie is in a ZONE with his shooting. I've seen him make tough shots with guys basically hanging all over him. I'm sure some of it was bad D but give the man his props.

You've got the shooting pretty good to be able to drop 81 points an ANY NBA team.

Think of Wilt Chamberlain scoring 100! Kobe had his best game ever and probably can't top it by much. Especially not 20. But Kobe is still amazing because he scored 81 as a guard.
