English soccer...uh, football ;)

A friend of mine is planning a trip to Europe with a three or so day stay in London while he's there. I don't think he's a HUGE soccer fan, but he'd like to take in a Premier League game while he's there, to mark another one off the "must see" list. Only problem he's having is that none of the "big boys" are in action while he's there, and the only option is Wigan at Fulham.

His question (of which I have no answer) is if seeing a game at Fulham is worth spending one of his nights in London.

I know there are some English Premier fans here, anyone with some thoughts? (This time I promise to pay attention to one of your footie threads! )

Night games at Craven Cottage are usually good. As a former season ticket holder at Fulham I may be biased, but Fulham's ground is wonderful. If your friend goes (and tickets should be fairly easy to get) he should take the walk from Putney Bridge through Bishops Park to the ground.

I'd recommend it. That said, there are DOZENS of things worth doing in London every night, so...

stay in St Albans... lovely ancient Roman Town & not too far away to commute to the game.

But I'm biased as London always leaves me with a massive migraine. And I love ancient antiqueties & history full stop.

Whichever team you see your friend should enjoy it, there usually more chance of seeing a good game without the big boys Chelsea etc as they're not as one sided.
