NASCAR and Beer Cans

I heard at Talledga the fans threw beer cans onto the field. Don't the concession stand use plastic or styrofoam cups to put the beer in and discard the cans when a customer orders beer like in football or baseball cans? If they don't, I would hope the Talledga incident would be enough to warrant doing this. What will it take a lawsuit caused by a beer can injury to disallow metal cans in the stadium?

At a race, you can bring your own beer. They check coolers at the gate, and all glass has to be left there, so no glass bottles (thank God). You can also buy beer at the concession stand, but no one in his right mind is going to pay $6 for one beer.
The idiots who throw beer cans on a race track don't love racing. They're fanatics who would rather see anyone win than whoever just did. Eventually, they'll ruin it for everyone, and no one will be allowed a cooler inside the track. In the days when only "rednecks" went to the races, this kind of thing didn't happen. Guess what that says for the rest of society.

I wonder if NASCAR will have a serious liability issue if they someone gets hurt by the beer cans.
I wonder if people should only bring beer in plastic jugs and have styrofoam or plastic cups.

NASCAR might have a problem with it sooner, rather than later. It's become normal at Talladega that they throw beer cans, and the truly ignorant people throw full ones. It's only a matter of time before someone winds up with a concussion, or worse. Then, all beer will probably be banned except those you can buy in the plastic bottles.
Plastic jugs? Not sure where you are, but that isn't even legal in GA. Of course, I haven't seen any beer cans chunked at Atlanta... Yet.
