I once stayed at the Canad Inn right across from the stadium where the Blue Bombers play in Winnipeg....it was the opening week of the season so there was a lot of Blue Bomber action.......was an exciting few days.....the closest I've ever been to the CFL....there have been a handful of guys from my local university that are from Canada and end up trying to hook up with a CFL team, so every now and then we get some updates down here in the states.....last guy was Scott Diebert from about 3-4 years ago, I think? Does his name ring a bell with anyone?

I have a question....We have friends in Ottawa...probably 15 years ago when I was about 11 we went up to visit and went to a Ottawa Roughriders game (it was a lot of fun). My question is, is there still an Ottawa Roughrider team? and if so why would another team have the name roughriders?

The Ottawa Roughriders disbanded a few years ago, and now Ottawa got a different team - The Renegades.

Being from Ottawa and a die hard Rider fan of old, it was nice to see a new team in the city. The Renegades are 4-3 this year after last week's dramatic come-from-behind-two-scores-in-2 minutes game.:)

Btw.............. for the record, the two teams in question were the Ottawa Rough Riders (two words) and the Saskatchewan Roughriders (one word). Furthermore, Ottawa was the longest running team, so Saskatchewan was second to use the name.

And for those who care, CFL football is the more exciting game. With 3 downs and a bigger field = more passing and more excitement.

Go Gades!!

Less talented players + bigger fields + 2 plays and punt = Not the NFL

CFL Exciting? Sure, but so is a good high school football game here in the States. The biggest and the best play in the NFL for a reason. Hockey Night in Canada....the greatest! CFL Night in Canada....

All of the good NFL players come from the CFL. Ricky Ray won the grey cup then went to the NFL. Football is football. We could go on and on. I play high school football.

I guess that college draft thing must not be working. Don't you mean all the good CFL players try to get into the NFL? I'm a high school football official and I'm curious....what team do you play on and what's your position?

Players that are six foot five inches falling down from the line of scrimmage 3 times = 10 yrds and a first down ................... You're right! Much more exciting.

I didn't say "more exciting", I said the NFL has better players. Football is more than just a passing game, and while the CFL game is more wide open, the NFL is more varied and complex. Same game (well almost).....different styles. To each their own

The CFl has a bigger football as well.I am not all into football, my high school team might as well quit, but i do like watching football, good stuff to watch i must say.

I personally watched the would watch the Grey Cup over the Superbowl, but that is because the lingerie bowl is on at the same time, man that was fun to watch last year!
