Well, it looks like we're going down in game 3. The great "Rocket" did us in, although I thought the Cards just failed to capitalize when he was hittable early. 5-2 in the 8th. There's still the ninth though and even if we should lose it's still 2-1 in our favor. Oswalt's gonna get rocked tomorrow

You're right league. The Astros think Oswalt is gonna save them. They're gonna find out that the Cards aren't going to give it to them. If Lidge throws those meatball sliders he threw to Renteria and Sanders to Pujols and Rolen, they're both taking him deep. Haven't they seen any tape of that pitch to get an idea of how much it breaks?

You can look at all the tape you want. You still have to stand in there in hit it.
BTW That's your best avatar yet! "That's a peach!"

I was looking for something old school to use. I figured who could be better than Stan the Man?

It probably looked (to opposing pitchers) like Musial had three bats in his hands when he stepped to the plate! Greatest Cardinal of all time.

Most definitely. IMO one of the most underrated players of all time. He was overshadowed by guys like Dimaggio, Mantle, and Mays over the length of his career. The shot of him sitting by Bob Gibson and Red Schoendienst at game one of the NLDS this year was classic.

I say the Sox take this one. Their bats can't stay silent in the early going forever. 7-5 Red Sox.

Boston has their backs to the wall the same as the Astros did. You just can't go down 3-0 and have any chance of winning. That being the case, you'd think the Sox will find a way to win tonight.........but.......they can't beat the "darn" Yankees. I'd like a Cards vs Sox World Series but the Sox have never found a way to get the Yankee gorilla off their backs!

Well, they're down 3-0 already, so it looks like that Yankee gorilla is staying on the Red Sox back.

Well, that changed quickly. 4-3 Red Sox at the end of the second.

Yeah, playoff games take WAY too long. All the slow walks to the mound, pitching changes, plus the commercials are extended. This game could last til 3 am..
