Who's #3?

Well the rankings are in and Oklahoma took over the #2 spot in the AP Poll but they are still tied for second in Coaches Poll. So who doesn't deserve to go to the BCS Championship. I have OU becuase I don't like them as much as Auburn. I like Auburn's style of defense and plus I keep thinking back to last year where OU lost their last two games and their biggest two games (The BSC Championship and the Big 12 Chamiopnship).

If they all end undefeated, I will go for Auburn because I think they play in a tougher conference. I have USC in as a lock as an undefeated team. While I don't really like the Pac-10, I think they should finally deserve to get a shot at the National title game after missing out the past 2 years. Looks like they'll get the chance if they take care of business and they should.

BTW, where is Utah in this talk of who should be #3? It's kind of half-sarcastic but I believe they just finished the season 11-0 and might be the first non-BCS conference team to make a BCS bowl. Right now, they stand at #6 in the BCS standings and if they finish there or better, they'll be a lock for a BCS bowl.

Then there's Boise State. I may have graduated from the University of Illinois but I was born and raised a UH Warrior fan. If all the dominoes can fall into place and Boise State makes a Boise State makes a BCS bowl, it would mean lots of money for UH. The chances aren't that great right now but it's something to think about.

Ooops, when I said I would go for Auburn, I meant I would pick them to play in the title game. Since I also picked USC, that means my choice for the #3 team would be Oklahoma.

If OU and Auburn both loose in their conference championship games, you could possibly have a USC vs. Cal BCS title game. With a couple of looses above them, Boise might get close enough to get in a BCS game also.

I like to think of who would win a matchup between the schools. I believe USC to be the weakest of the three teams but they are not really in jeopardy of dropping to #3, so it's between Auburn and Oklahoma to me....I just think Auburn is a more solid defensive team and would beat Oklahoma if they played. Probably what will happen is both OU and AU will lose their conference title games and we'll have an even bigger mess...gotta love the BCS!

Do you make your own avatars like that or do you find them? If you make them, which program do you use? And is there a free one out there that is fairly easy to use and gets good results? Sorry for making this feel like the inquisition, but I've been curious about them for a while now...

That's cool, unfortunately for me I change avatars a lot so I'd like to be able to do my own if it were possible.

I use Paintshop Pro by JASC the software includes Animation Shop. Animation Shop can be purchased by itself but is quite limited as a stand-alone product.

Do a Google search for "gif animation software" you should get a number of different programs that are available.

They are relatively easy to make once you get used to the basics.

email or pm me if I can help further - Loyd

Well, I tried out a free one I found in a google search, and the seeming simpleness yet overall complexity to get it where you wanted to be overwhelmed me. My head was spinning... I tried to make one 100 x 100 pixels for use as an avatar and it turned out to be so small you could barely see it.

It's all trial and error when learning . . . some pics work well others do not. Resizing so that the file is small enough to work as an avatar for most forums can be a bit challenging. Many times one will need to create artwork from scratch if you can't find something that you can use.
