I've gotta go with the homeboys(Pistons) to repeat. They're stronger than last year, when they spanked the best of the west. Indy could yet again provide their stongest challenge. Miami could be tough. Wake me up in March when it starts to get interesting.

Don't forget about Dwayne Wade. He's averaging 24.4 PPG 6th in the NBA. 7.5 Assists per Game 5th in the NBA. And 13th in Steals Per Game. He's Perfect for Shaq's dominance.

Hey, what about the Suns? Honestly, I think the T'Wolves might do it this year. If they can stay healthy all year, something that didn't happen in the playoffs last year, they might be able to do it. After watching them control the 4th qtr against my beloved Suns over the weekend, they showed the poise and control of a veteran team against the youth and confusion of a young team(Suns). I'm thinking this season is the last in the 'window of opportunity' for the T'Pups. Spree is wearing out his welcome, Sam is too. Plus they're not getting any younger.

I love the NBA. It'll be a fun season in the West. Spurs, T'Wolves, Suns, Sonics, Kings, Mavericks, Rockets, Lakers, Nuggets......no easy games in the West this season......

The NBA itself leads the way in "controversy" these days. The NBA can be exciting, at times, but there's a deep undertone of apathy from the average American sports fan that wasn't there 10 years ago.

Wow. More people think that Detroit has the best chance of winning it all this year. I dunno.

Seattle is not playing around! 102-96 against the Spurs with Duncan scoring 39.

Hey I can't wait till Christmas... and it isn't for the presents. Lakers vs. Heat. who do you think will win?

OH man! Lakers-heat... I was trying to get tickets to this one, but apparently this is the hardest to find ticket in Laker history, and I didnt feel like paying 10'gs to watch it courtside..

I gotta root for the Lakers.. theyre always my team. Although I miss Shaq... I say Lakers take it in a close one, with Chris Mihm dunking on Shaq for the game winner!

I'm also interested in not only seeing Shaq vs. Kobe, but I' curious to see how Wade will rise to the occasion and have Kobe's hands full.

There's no way Seattle will win. They dont have a big man in the middle. Best out of the west will be SA and Minny. Best out the East will be Motown and the Heat. Man, the east is so weak. Look at all those pathetic teams.

Well I admit I'm biased, but they didn't do it with smoke and mirrors last year and they're a bit stronger & deeper this year. They flat out crushed the best of the west(Fakers?) last year and I don't see any reason why they shouldn't be able to do it again, if they get out of the East. It's too early to tell how good Miami is going to be & Indy, their only other real threat in the East, is going to have a tough go of it.

Detroit has a good shot to get outta the east, now that the nets are done... Last year, I thought Detroit was pretty lucky Kidd and Kmart were hobbled for that series, cuz it still went to 7...
I think if Malone goes to the Heat, they'll have to be the favorites out East. Malone is, at the very least, a servicable PF who can get 15-8 a night and provide some toughness, and Shaq and Wade seem to get along fine, with Wade taking THE LEAP this year..

Seattle, everyone says they cant last. They cant last. I personally believe this too, but then again, everyone was saying the Lakers were too much for Detroit last year, before they got owned. On paper, sure, the Sonics rely too much on the outside shot, but theyre 4th in the league in Rebounding margin... Somehow they're getting it done...

They just crushed SA (who won 8 in a row or something like that, so they were on a roll) and Dallas both in Texas, and they're getting their 3rd leading scorer last year back from injury soon (Flip).. Must give credit where credit is due. Getting solid minutes from everyone in their rotation, including Fortson and Collison, Radman, Luke and the rest.. Plus have a nice 1-2 punch with Ray and Rashard... THey arent just beating the Warriors and the AK-less Jazz. Theyre beating the full strength Mavs/Spurs/Wolves. Its pretty impressive thus far.
