Monty @ Pinehurst

Well, i hear Colin Montgomerie will be playing at No. 2 this week.

Fingers crossed that he can finally shed his title, BPNTHWAM.

I don't feel Monty is or should be called the BPNTHWAM. He isn't even in the top 25 in the world rankings. And if I am correct, which I probably am not he still hasn't won a tournament in America.

#6 Adam Scott
#7 Sergio Garcia
#8 Chris DiMarco
#9 Padraig Harrington

And my personal favorite Darren Clarke even though he isn't playing the Open, are all better player or at the very least as good as Monty.

You are correct, Steeler.

Colin Montgomerie may have been, at one time, the best player without a major victory, but he's not even close these days.

It will be a long two days for Colin this week. Pinehurst does not set up well for his game. His trajectory is too low and his short game is marginal, at best.

Scott, Garcia, Harrington and Clarke are all great players, however they have plenty of Major appearances in front of them, Monty must have played 50 or more, that is why he is called the best player never to have won a Major. Furthermore, none of the aforesaid were as dominant over an extended period of time as Monty (I know I know big fish small pond notwithstanding)
