The 10 shot rule
Well it's US Open time again. From watching the golf channel anyone who is within 10 strokes of the leader after 2 rounds makes the cut. So what happens if nobody is within 10 strokes. His he the automatic winner? Does he have to complete all 72 holes? Would he recieve the total purse money?

I might be wrong but I think the top 60 still make the weekend...

correct me if im mistaken, but im pretty sure the rule is this..

the top 60 players advance to the weekend, however, anyone within 10 strokes of the leader is automatically advanced into the weekend. so if more than 60 people are within 10 strokes of the leader, then they would still get a pass into the weekend..

Looks like there will be a couple more than 80 golfers out there this weekend.
