Open Championship "Quick Takes"

On the Grey Goose 19th hole, they do that segment called "Quick takes"....this is sorta like that....just give your answers to the following questions as yes/no, or list the name, etc.

1. If you were betting, would you take Tiger Woods or the Field?

2. Will Jack Nicklaus make the cut in possibly his last major championship?

3. Which of the "Big Five" will have have the worst finish this week?

4. Which golfer outside the top 30 in the World Golf Rankings do you think has a good chance at a top 5 this week?

5. Will the record score in relation to par of -19 be topped this week?

6. Will anyone reach the 618 yard 14th in two shots this week?

Field
No
Mickleson
Hensby
Depends on weather conditions. Calm and it gets shattered. Excessively windy and 12 or so under wins it.

Incidentally, how about the tough spot Luke Donald is in? If it's not bad enough trying to live up to your own hype in your country's championship, you play the first two rounds with former champions Watson and Nicklaus, multiplying they eyes watching your group immensely. Not to mention either of those two could struggle to an 80-something in a round (though I don't think that will happen) and throw any tempo off.

1. If you were betting, would you take Tiger Woods or the Field?

Tough one...I like the odds of the Field better though if I were betting logically. Give me some 3:1 or better Tiger, and I'll bet Tiger all day long

2. Will Jack Nicklaus make the cut in possibly his last major championship?

No...sorry Jack

3. Which of the "Big Five" will have have the worst finish this week?

HA...Mickelson without a DOUBT! I'd give anyone 5:1 on that bet.

4. Which golfer outside the top 30 in the World Golf Rankings do you think has a good chance at a top 5 this week?

Not a single idea of who I'd bet on. Mark O'Meara?? LOL

5. Will the record score in relation to par of -19 be topped this week?

NO WAY

6. Will anyone reach the 618 yard 14th in two shots this week?[/quote]

Yep...Tiger, Vijay, and Ernie will give a whack at it. Phil will be in the rough somewhere punching it out. Oh yeah, Phil will never win a British Open.

Well, through the front nine or so, it looks like my "Donald and the old folks" hypothesis is turning out for the positive. Luke is at -3 through 9, his partners are Even. If the conditions stay like this, that -19 mark is toast.

Goosen has just hit the 14th. It was wind assisted but he just hit the green from 298yds out.

10.36am on the opening day.
