Don't know why all the complaints. I didn't mind it. I mean you had 3 of top 5 players in the world, and the 4th guy is maybe the most well-liked player in the U.S. I enjoyed watching Goosen throwing darts at the hole, and laughed at some of Daly's comments. Sure, it wasn't Woods best round, but it was still fun to watch for me. Beat baseball.
phil and retief both didn't wilt under tiger's presence.
In a relatively meaningless exhibition and with a partner to help them out, it's not likely anyone would wilt under Tiger's presence.
btw, did anyone else find Tiger's comment on the 9th after he hit his 2nd in the water a little odd? He said something like "Tough shot for me nowadays Stevie." I wonder what he was referring to, as I would figure he was playing for a fade and the fade has been his bread and butter with the irons this year.

He also said right before...Man I went at that hard..(then)...tough shot for me nowadays Stevie".
I could be wrong with interpreting Tiger's comments...but me thinks hitting a long iron hard out of the rough with a now shallower, more rounded, swing plane is tougher than his previous more upright motion. Tougher to make cleaner contact...thus it came up a little short in this instance.
Thanks MajorsFan....that seems to make sense, and if so, it takes away one of Tiger's biggest weapons. Although it obviously hasn't hurt him too much this year. It was just shocking to see him admit something like that on TV, even if it were a more relaxed event.

GF, Tiger didn't drive the ball very well, but he was usually the closest to the pin pretty much all night long. In fact, he missed some of his putts for birdies after Goosen buried 20 footers. I think Woods' putting was more of a problem for him than his ball-striking, although his driving was certainly not very good either. Goosen's putting was awesome though, and it didn't hurt to have the local knowledge from Phil either.

Yes it does dimish somewhat his abilty with long irons, but IMO his new motion enhances his short iron approaches which as we know...he has a lot more of per round.
In fact he's leading the tour in par 4 scoring ave/hole
I was surprised at how much of a cut Tiger hits off the tee, some great camera shots during this. Daly was funny, played really bad though, particularly on the par threes. He looked knackered, as did tiger, he didnt talk much.
Ain't John Daly just a big ol' fat slice of - mullet-sporting, club-throwing, I-don't-need-no-chaser-for-this-shot-of-Wild-Turkey, moving ball-smacking, nicotine-puffing, I'll-take-that-steak-thick-and-bloody-and-I-don't-want-the-house-salad, where's-my-extra-sour-cream, thank you very little - American Pie?
*LoL*
That's part of his charm. He basically says "This is who I am take it or leave it". Personally, I like that attitude.
