I respect your opinion, I was just curious about how the outside the ropes stuff at Augusta affected your views on the Majors. I hadn't looked at it that way, but I can see now how the off the course distractions could detract from watching. Hootie and the boys are are "Hoot" aren't they!
Well, I have to agree that all the pomp and circumstance that go with the Masters is beginning to go a little over the top...fake chirps fer cryin' out loud ...'bout the most obnoxious thing I've heard at the Masters since Fuzzy's comment about Tiger. But, year in and year out, it is the toughest test of golf for the entire season...no disrespect intended to Ben Curtis, but I honestly don't think you'll ever see him as Masters Champ. I do like the no-commercial thing but it sure comes at a price.
Leaguegolf - I'd give my "left one" to play Augusta, and who can forget the drama when Crenshaw won?, when Nicklaus won at the age of 46?, Tiger's first Masters, Norman blowing the final hole, final round? Great stuff!
I watch it every year, and absolutely enjoy it. Choosing one of the four majors as a favorite is almost akin to picking between the finalists of Miss Universe - you can't lose! :)
PS --
By the way - were you the person on the forum who posted about South Eastern Michigan course prices? I'm going to be in Ann Arbor in about three weeks and am trying to find out info on public courses.
Yes, I'm in South Eastern Michigan and if you want more info let me know and I'll see how I can help you. Try a personal message with more info and any questions.
every year, i look forward to the british open the most. it's hard not to pick the masters especially with this years sunday finish with phil and ernie but the british open is still my favorite event. i love the courses they play on and the huge pot bunkers are a sight to see.
