$60.00 for a practice round.........and someone was complaining about a $94.50 ticket for Sunday at a major?
Have a great time and post some pics if you can!
You just reminded me to charge my camera batteries. Thanks!
I'm picking up my Saturday or Sunday VIP tickets later this week. (Not sure which yet). I used to live next door to the club pro at Firestone, so that's how I get hooked up with these.
Cameras obviously aren't allowed Thursday-Sunday so I'll get as many pictures as I can tomorrow. I'm taking my 10-year-old brother with me, so hopefully he gets picked out to get an autograph.
I've kinda drifted away from it in the last month or so. I'm a '96 grad, and know Creason well myself. I played there Friday morning for the first time in probably 8 or 9 years.
And don't keep yourself to just the golf forums... we've got a surly Ball State grad down there in the "Sports" forum that needs to be put in his place!
The NEC is without a doubt my favorite non-major event of the year...although the Memorial is up there too...bookends of the summer they seem to be. Have fun BGSUgolfer, and let us know what's going on there...GR "Insider", haha.
So, we might as well make this into the regularly scheduled tournament thread as well....who does everyone like this week for the event?
I think Tiger's due to get back on form with the entire game and will take this one. He's played great at Firestone throughout his career. Jim Furyk also seems to be one who enjoys the course, although the winners have traditionally been bombers. For that reason, I expect DL3 to continue his good form and make a good showing. Also, maybe Darren Clarke may resurface near the top of the board again, as he always seems to play well in WGCs.

Creason is near and dear to my heart. I recorded both my first birdie and my first eagle there.
I'm going to try to get a foursome together for Homecoming weekend... I can't wait.

I was actually thinking the same thing. I might be heading back for HC weekend, and would love to get back out on Creason before the weather gets nasty. Maybe next time I'll bring my short game with me. I played well for the most part, but too many missed greens and shaky chips ballooned me to an 89. (Which, ironically, I would have loved to shoot when I was in college! )

My absolute favorite part of that course is the bev cart girls.

Yeah, we had ONE that rolled by on 13 or 14, but didn't even acknowledge us, I thought maybe she was strictly with the outing behind us, but then as we're hitting our approaches on 18, she rolls by and asks if we needed anything. And I think it was only because my dad was waving at me because the group ahead was still on the green and I shouldn't hit. She wasn't even anything to write home about, either.
Tiger's in 1st place so far, but there's still a lot of golf left today. This does bode well for him though as almost every tourney lately he's had a slow start with high scores in the first round. This is one of his favorite courses, and with a strong start, he might be in a very good position to nail down another win this year.
