I live 5 miles from Sahalee CC and can tell you its not very accessible. Sahalee CC is located on the Sammamish Plateau. There are no major roadways to the CC, and the only road that runs past is a two lane road. Also, the land around Sahalee (Sammamish area) is all residential, which means there is no parking. People would have to park down in Issaquah or Redmond and be bussed in.

From almost everything I read and heard, Sahalee (the course) was an unqualified success. Nearly everyone loved that course. And I'm sure the PGA Of America, or the International Federation Of PGA Tours would love to return if it were not for the logistics problems.

The rumors Ive heard from other local golfers (I was not living in WA at the time) was the PGA was NOT happy about the traffic/parking nightmare.

Ill admit this may not be the only reason Sahalee lost the tourney, but it did not help.

And yes, the course is supposed to be immaculate, however since it is a private club I wouldnt know first hand.

I need a better class of friends.

I remember watching that tourney thinking, that is one fine looking golf cousre. The fairways were so narrow the players had to walk down them single file. I'd love to see another tournament there.
