Paula and Beth are fighting and scratching today to maintain their 1 up lead thru 16...wish I had TGC to see some of it. Annika and Pettersen are obviously playing poorly, and were 4 down thru 12 before winning the last hole. Too bad all of the action is on TGC, I'd like to have caught some of it this weekend.
Looks like those leads are being choked away....Paula and Beth couldn't hold on and ended up halving the match, Davies and her partner won their tilt, and in the other two matches, the Euros have won three holes in a row each to tighten things up considerably. Not looking nearly as bright for the US as it did just half an hour ago.
well trash talking AFTER an event is even worse. what's worse than a sore loser? a poor winner. she knows her pressure threshold and if she feels she can handle it who are we to judge her psyche.
and who's to say we can't appreciate both? if they have good looks to match their game why shouldn't we be able to appreciate it? it's not like kournikova where she was a icon for her looks first and as a tennis player second. kerr and gulbis have game and they just happen to be pretty **** hot

Couldn't agree more.
Maybe I should have said trash talking as a whole before OR after an event doesn't exibit the best form of sportsmanship in any sport.
But thats just me...an old school way of thinking. I realize today's athletes are different for the most part it seems.
Performance, without words, is the classiest and "loudest" form of a statement and much more appealing, IMO.
Jack Nicklaus was the epitome of the humble winner and gracious loser. IMO, he's still the standard for excellence and class as a competitor.
As far as Creamer knowing her own threshold of pressure...only she would know. But typically you'll see more young inexperienced players in any sport "yap it up" more than you'll see verterans doing it. Again why put more unnecessary pressure on yourself and also risk riling up your opponent?
Heck look at Tiger. It's night and day from his earlier days. He's learned to keep his cocky statements to himself for the most part these days and in turn compliment his fellow competitors so much more than before.
I watched a bit of the Solheim Cup yesterday and I've watched the front 9's this morning and something really sticks out to me.
The Golf Channel has not listed the distance or shown the hole lay-out on any of the Par 4's. I've seen the the hole distances on the Par 3's and 5's but not the Par 4's. They've also shown very few tee shots except for the Par 3's. I know that TGC is not a major golf televising network and I don't expect all the bells and whistles of CBS or NBC but why are we not getting hole information or seeing tee shots?
It's no secret that the women are shorter off the tee and play way less than the 7200+ yards the men play, but I don't even know how long the holes are, much less the total distance they're playing this week. The total distance isn't that big of a deal but I would like to know how long the Par 4's are playing and what the hole looks like. It's good to know that Annika or Natalie have 139 to the hole but how long is the hole and what kind of shot did they hit to get there?
Sadly, they've turned the Solheim Cup telecast into approach shots and putts. Anyone else notice this? Does anyone else care? This is the one woman's event that I really enjoy and TGC is butchering it. In my opinion the telecast is doing Woman's golf a disservice by not supplying the general information that most golf fans are used to seeing on televised events.
A nice little comeback in the morning session by the USA to tie things up at 6 apiece. I'd like a chance to see this, but since TGC has the only coverage...
I think this competition is superb :nodsmiley, really enjoying it It is a handsome looking golf course!
I`m concerned that Europe don`t have a lead going into the singles,as the American team look like they`re ready to pounce ..has anyone else noticed how the USA team look like they really want to win this... unlike the recent look of the American Ryder Cup teams .
One thing that is niggling me is how they`re allowed to practise putt after the completion of a hole... , in the last Ryder Cup both captains agreed to only allowing any remaining putts to be completed on the greens! Another interesting difference from the Ryder Cup is how any injured players must concede a singles match if they can`t play!
