He's in 1st place again, middle of the 3rd round. He might fade a bit and fail to win this one, but Gore will be a multiple tourney winner on the PGA Tour. Mark my word.

Stlcard and I were there at Mystic Rock today and followed Jason for most of his round. He was relaxed, friendly, and very appreciative of all the support he was receiving. His galleries definitly rivaled Phil's and were bigger than Vijay's.
By the way, in person, he isn't nearly as overweight as he looks on TV. A big man, yes...but neatly turned out and very solid. Hope he wins this one!!!!!
I agree with Dave. I think he'll win a few tournaments, and maybe a major. Once he gets that first win under his belt, his confidence will sore. He has the game.
As Donna said, we followed Jason for most of his round, and I was surprised at just how long he hit it. On 15, there were a couple older gentlemen who mentioned when Ryan Moore came through that his drive was the longest they'd seen on that hole by about 30 yards, as he was partway down the downslope and about 50 yards past where most of the drives I saw were. I wandered over behind 15 green later on when Jason came through and he was 15 or so yards past where Ryan was, on the right side of the fairway! He couldn't have had more than 100 into the 460 yard hole, which he birdied. It was certainly enjoyable to watch the guy, as he was contstantly smiling and acknowledging the galleries, who were every bit as racous for him, even prior to his run to the top, as Phil Mickelson's were earlier in the day.
Well unless Franco holes a pretty long putt, looks like Jason will come to 18 with a one shot lead...that hole is really tough so hopefully he can hit the fairway and green and get the win.
Wow, that didn't take long. I had second thoughts that my 'mark my word' comment was a little brash, but not any more. There were a few that doubted Jason would make cuts on the PGA tour this time around, even after he rattled off 3 Nationwide wins this year, but now I guess Jason has proved he fits in with the big boys.
Nice work Jason! What a great, great story he's been this year. From his first place position at the US Open until the final round and his incredible Nationwide roll he went on and his battlefield promotion and only a month later, his first PGA win.

You wonder why he hasn't won before or at least had SOME success before, this guy can golf his ball.

He won a couple Nationwide events before, but I suspect his performance at the US Open earlier this summer through the first three rounds really had an effect on his confidence. Once he got those three Nationwide wins in a row, he was used to the spotlight and pressure of being in contention. This is just a continuation of that streak. The guy is just so likeable and fun to watch...I really hope he continues to improve, because he has the makings of a fine player coming into his prime at age 31.
Yes I think the U.S.Open gave him the confidence. He was 818 in the world before that. Since then he's like a top five. Interesting how he'll stand on the world list after his win. Just looked it up he's 318 before the win.
