Since we had a Pick 'Em game for the 2004 Ryder Cup, it is only fitting that we have a 2005 Presidents Cup Pick 'Em game. Read the rules carefully because they are a little different from the major championship Pick 'Ems.
The prize: The prize will be a special "Presidents Cup Pick 'Em Champion" seal displayed below your User Title (Weekend Duffer, Golf Enthusiast, etc.).
Deadline to enter: this contest will be 6:00 AM Eastern time on Thursday, September 22, 2005.
To be eligible: for this contest, you will need to be at "Golf Enthusiast" level. This means, you must have a minimum of 30 posts to be eligible for the prize. All other members can play but will not be eligible to win the prize. Spamming of the forum will not be tolerated and will result in your disqualification from the contest and possibly all future contests.
Note: You don't need to be at "Golf Enthusiast" level when you enter but if you would like to be eligible for the prize, you will have to be at that level by the end of the contest (Sunday).
How to play: First, you have to select a team to win, either USA or International. Next, pick a player from each group on your team who you think will do best. Wins get 1 point and ties receive 0.5 points. After this, pick a player on each group from the opposite team who you think will fare the worst. The points these players receive will be subtracted from your score.

U.S. Team
----
Group A: Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, David Toms
Group B: Kenny Perry, Chris DiMarco, Jim Furyk
Group C: Fred Funk, Stewart Cink, Davis Love III
Group D: Scott Verplank, Justin Leonard, Fred Couples
International Team
----
Group A: Vijay Singh, Retief Goosen, Adam Scott
Group B: Angel Cabrera, Tim Clark, Michael Campbell
Group C: Stuart Appleby, Mike Weir, Nick O'Hern
Group D: Mark Hensby, Peter Lonard, Trevor Immelman
Pick your players using the following format:
Winning Team: USA, A. Tiger Woods, B. Kenny Perry, C. Fred Funk, D. Scott Verplank
Losing Team: International, A. Vijay Singh, B. Angel Cabrera, C. Stuart Appleby, D. Mark Hensby
One twist. You must pick the winning team to win the Pick 'Em. So if you picked the USA team to win and had the most points but in reality, the International Team won, you would not win the Pick 'Em game. Hope that isn't confusing.
Remember, you want to pick the players who will do best for your winning team. These scores will be added to your score. Pick the players who will do worst for the losing team as their scores will be subtracted from your score. The person receiving the highest score will win.
If you have any questions, feel free to send me (victory) a private message (PM). Good luck, everyone!
*Edit* For information on tie-breakers, please see this post:

EDIT: Sorry, just reread that article and realized that the no ties rule is for the singles matches only! So we do need the half-points for the contest. Should have know you had it right in the first place!!!

Okay, it has been brought to my attention that we don't have a tiebreaker so I'll try to explain it as easily as possible:
In the event of a tie, the tiebreaker will be the person who picks the highest scoring player in Group A (winning team). If it's a tie after that, then it goes on to Group B, Group C and then Group D. If it is still a tie, then we will go to the person who picks the lowest scoring player in Group A (losing team), then to Group B, C and then D. If it's a tie after that, then we'll just have to have co-champions.
