As JungleJ said, until you start getting up toward 7300 or more, the courses aren't that long for today's pros. At par 70, 7086 will play a little longer, but still not overly difficult. They're calling for a winning score somewhere in the upper teens under, but you never know how the weather might effect that.
BTW, a little did you know....Tiger Woods' winning percentage in individual WGCs since their introduction is .583?? That's a good record in baseball or basketball, but golf?

By today's standards, the number 7,086 seems kind of on the short-ish side. But, depending on the design, courses may play longer or shorter than their actual length. The length of a course has little to do with it's difficulty, unless you're talking about something in the neighborhood of 7,800+ yards.
Look at Harbour Town. It's one of the shorter courses on TOUR but, year-in-and-year-out, it plays as one of the more difficult. It's all in the design.
No Lefty, I don't work in a bar in Detroit but I assure you that if I did, I certainly would've recognized the victorious Ryder Cuppers and, on behalf of American golf fans, bought the team a round or 6! I'm always up for a good party and those Euro boys win that match with their American counterparts 10 & 8!
The "he" in my post was referring to Goosen as part of his team. He lost the President's Cup the same as all the Internationals "lost" the President's Cup. Stay with us here Petermo.......it ain't that tough to keep up!
Quite a day for Monty, not usual to see a 3 shot lead after one round. Soem pretty good players are in that group tied for 2nd, so we'll see if the lead holds up tomorrow.

Wow, how about that. And didn't Monty win recently on the European tour? He's got some "Mo" going, but he's never won a PGA event if memory serves me correctly.
I agree, long way to go here. Granted Monty's asked for many of the heckling problems over "here", but IMO he's paid a long enough price. If Tiger doesn't win, I wouldn't mind Monty taking this.

Could'nt agree with you more, pity some folks can't let things fade away, the big Scot has paid the price now it's high time to get down to the business of golf. The field at " The Dunhill " last week may not have been that strong but there was some pretty good golfers in that tournament and Monty posted excellent scores on his trips around the Old Course on the way to his win, it certainly would be nice for the guy to win in the States. He is a world class player with a beautiful golf swing.
Picture of Monty in the local paper this morning - you could clearly see he's playing a Cleveland driver, and it looked like it had a bit of lead tape on it as well.
