tour players' equipment

I noticed yesterday, when they showed Monty on the tee box he was sliding a cleveland launcher back in his bag. Then on the green, a close up of his ball revealed a callaway, not sure which model. I wonder if at least his irons are yonex, the only logo he seemed to be wearing.

It all depends on their contracts. A FULL Sponsorship usually includes a Bag and 8-10 clubs. Players have been moving away from full sponsorships because it is restrictive. At EVERY event, the OEM's are paying to play Putters, Balls, Wedges, Driver and Carry a Bag at the very least. Some of the lower-tiered players can make $10K a week just in weekly equipment sponsorships so it is definitely lucrative.

I think monty still plays yonex's cyberstar VX irons.

Ernie is one of the few guys that plays all 14 clubs by the same company. Vijay and Phil do, too... Tiger has a Scotty Cameron. Luke Donald plays a Titleist driver...

I always thought they just played whatever they wanted to. I know they all have sponsors, but Vijay won at the Wachovia(spelling ) with the R7 Quad, and he is usually all Cleveland.

I think Vijay's deal with Cleveland allows him one non-Cleveland club at a time (they own Never Compromise so he uses their putters ost of the time).

I believe Mickelson's contract with Callaway allows him to use a few other clubs as well - I know he's been hitting R7 and Titleist fairway woods this season.

I thought Phil had switched over completely to Callaway. When did you see him using TaylorMade's r7 driver?

no, phil uses a 13* r7 fw wood... and i believe a 17* 904F..., but when he won at Baltusrol, i was almost positive that all his woods were callaways.

Last year, vijay used the r7 quad TP because he felt it was a better driver than anything Cleveeland was offering. This year he switched over to the Launcher 460 COMP.

Vijays signed a new at the start of the season that say's he has to carry 13 Cleveland clubs. Last year it was just the irons. His 14th club is the Cally 7 wood bent to a 5wood loft and 5 degrees open.

Phil won the PGA with an FT-3 driver and R7 13' and Titliest 904F 17'

Yea I thought Phil was total Callaway man now.....Cleveland has the most restrictive contracts out there.....VJ has to carry 13 Clevelands. Ping is bad about that too.

I wouldn't mind having 13 Ping clubs though. I'd have to change the fairway wood if anything. I can't stand their FWs. And the putter would definitely be worth it.

Cleveland, I dunno. I think 13 of those would also be quite a good deal, but I'd have to go with a Scotty putter or something. Stick with Launcher driver 3wood 5wood, CG1 3-PW, and classic 588 or 900 black nickel 56* and 60*. Titleist Newport II putter by Scotty Cameron.

It looks like not too many mizuno guys play mizuno woods - they play the irons only, then have A Scotty and a Taylormade or Titleist driver, or cleveland FW's, or ...

Luke Donald & Billy Andrade both do this.
