I am absolutely NOT a rules guru, so I'm really not sure exactly what happened with Kevin except that he called an official to show him a non-conforming club in his bag and was DQ'd on the spot.

DQ may have a completely different meaning to Stadler.......(DQ as in Dairy Queen?)
I heard that the shaft on his PW was bent, which makes that club NON-conforming. The rules official was called over to make a ruling on some other issue and noticed that the shaft was bent. Stadler said he did not know how or when it happened, and did know it was a rules violation before he was DQ'd. Before he was DQ'd, the rules official on site made several phone calls to the rules and league office to make sure what the ruling was.
He was 161st on the money list and looked like he was going to make enough money to qualify for next year.
OK guys, all fat jokes aside, here is the decision. Slugger White is going to try to get the USGA to look at this rule and correct the decision.

4-1/1 Non-Conforming Club Carried But Not Used
Q. If a player unwittingly carries a non-conforming club but does not use it, would the Committee be justified, under Rule 33-7, in waiving or modifying the disqualification penalty?
A. No.
I heard that the DQ was in regard to a 'bent club' he had in his bag? Did he sit on his bag while waiting on a slow group and bent the steel shaft?
I watched much of the televised portion of the tournament and Kevin has a bit of a temper. He threw several of his clubs. One has wonder if it lead to him bending his wedge. Whatever the reason, it's a devasting blow to his attempts to keep his tour card. It will be interesting to see if he can regroup for the final two tournaments of the year.
