I'd have to take a shot at Ernie winning the Masters next year...just a gut feeling you know, and not really going out on a limb...good to see the Big Guy back.

Thats a pretty stiff pick! I say that he may come out and win the Mercedes Championship or maybe the Sony.. But the Masters???
Yes, it's great to have Ernie back. He has been missed. I think it will be interesting to observe if Ernie's injury has a negative impact on his game.
As for my expectations for Ernie's 2006, I've really never been too sure if Ernie is somewhat an underachiever, or if fans' expectations have just been too high.
Remember, Ernie won the 1997 U. S. Open just two months after Tiger's first major championship as a pro. Since that time Ernie has managed "only" one other major...the 2002 British Open...and it can be rightfully asserted that both Thomas Levet and Steve Elkington virtually handed that one to Ernie, after Ernie tried to fumble it away.
As for Ernie's PGA TOUR career, he has generally been good for no more than two victories a year, if that many. Although he did, in fact, win three times in 2004. Ernie has averaged only one victory every 15 starts on the PGA TOUR....not a very prolific winner. But he is a consistent performer.

Ernie hasn't won this year and unless he plays next week, he won't be in the event. It will be interesting to see if he will even play in the Sony if he isn't in the Mercedes event.
