How about focusing on why the long hitters, Fred Couples and Tiger didn't do that well? Fred Couples has always been one of the greatest players in skins and yet he came away empty. Tiger actually captured one skin (with rollovers). In reality, Fred Funk got all the money, but only captured two skins (with rollovers). It's the skins game. In the skins format, a person could be in contention for a skin a number of times and get shut out by others and yet someone who might not even be close could come to a hole and have the best and only shot and win a bunch. It's the nature of the game.
Fred Funk was invited because he's a crowd pleaser and a friend of Tiger's. It's the silly season. It's all about entertainment value and Funk was largely responsible for making it one of the most entertaining Skins games since Trevino's time.
Fred funk won simply because he made the shots he needed to make. How many puts did Fred Couples miss that would have put him over the top?.. Im sure all of us have had days where we got all the breaks (bad T shots bounce back in the fairway, maiking long putts etc.).
One thing is for sure, from a scoring percentage standpoint. The big hitters definately have the advantage. Tiger and Couples had many more scoring opportunities but Fred Funk sank the long one's.
Fred Couples seemed fairly disinterested (Prozac?), Annika was having fun, Tiger is simply amazed that he doesn't dominate and of course Funk is Funk..... a fun loving guy. Hard to believe, especially when he was wearing the dress, that Fred Funk was a boxer 'in the day'.
I was nice to see one of the shorter hitters on tour, what did he hit a 325 yard drive on that one hole that had a 275 carry over a bunker take down two big dogs. I didn't watch all of the skins game, but did Annika ever out drive Fred Funk on any holes? Just curious.
Obviously Annika doesn't belong. She can't compete on the par fives. It is amazing that they can't get four great golfers for the skins game. Were Vijay and Phil not available, or just not interested?

Watching the whole match, I would have to disagree with this. There were quite a few holes she helped tie. Where tiger was in the water and Funk was far out on his second and ran by the hole. While she obviously had a longer shot to the pin on several holes she was as close on here second shot.
I think the skins format is a great way to show of her abilities vs the men rather than stroke play.
I saw Vijay putt at the grand slam; I am glad he stayed home
I think Annika held in there pretty well too. Of course she was at a disadvantage distance-wise, but she hit some laser like irons. It was kinda funny how the men REALLY complimented her good shots, kinda patronizing her. It was like when you play with someone who is struggling, they finally get their drive airborne, and everyone yells "There ya go!!"
