Well, I think it was wonderful to see her come back with such a good round. Two rounds like that and she would have been two shots behind the leaders. But she isn't and that's that, for this time. Hopefully in the future she'll put together some good rounds. I think it's great because she gives women hope that they can try to do anything they set their minds to and that although things may not be easy or may not work out, just don't give up. I don't care if she wins or not, just seeing her out there makes me happy.
She shoots in the 60s in a tourney set up for the men of the PGA, now that's impressive.
Nice round, she played well, and didn't disappoint her many fans. Keep in mind that shooting "in the 60's" was -2 on the Par 70 layout. Two under was still playing good golf and that was great to see. I hope she will use this experience to help her do well on the LPGA tour and I'm sure we'll see her in many more men's events.
Well the only thing I have to add, contrary to some of the popular "men vs women physical maturity" posts here, is that she WILL get stronger. She may have reached her full height, but she'll be averaging 300 yards off the tee, give or take a few yards, by the time she's 21... bank on it. Now if she can just start making her 4-footers.

Wazmankg, before the tournament started, I would not have agreed with you.
However, given that she did average 300 yards in the 2nd round, I think she is really starting to increase her distance off the tee. That strength training seems to be paying dividends.
In a few more years, I do think she could be above average on the pga driving stats.
I think an important stat is this
- only 18 guys were equal or better than her on day 2.
- only 11 guys shot a better score than her on day 2.
Given that there were 143 I think, in the field, that is pretty impressive.
Extremely impressive to say the least. Can't wait for the day when she makes the cut, and it's coming soon! I will enjoy seeing who crawfishes the most in here.
She will always be chasing the distance. As she averages higher so will the players coming into the PGA tour. She was loose and no longer had anything to lose on day 2 so that helped. Her trouble is learning to get over the day tightness. She will learn to do that as she gains experience but since women stop growing earlier than men and her frame can only handle so much muscle she might be close to maxing out. Time will tell I guess.
The other day, an article on the web quoted Mark Calcavechia saying something like "she's pretty good, and may even make the cut eventually, but she'll never win a tournament against PGA players" .... "after she does finally make the cut, maybe the novelty will wear off and she'll go back to the LPGA" or something like that.
I thought about that a bit... I wonder if she's wasting what could possibly be wins on the LPGA for missed cuts on the PGA, or even if she does make the cut, would she settle for middle/bottom of the pack PGA? The only thing I could think of is that endorsements for being even bottom of the barrel female cut-maker on the PGA would be a $$$ bonanza for sponsors (considering how they're viewing it now and she's not even making the cut). I imagine she could possibly, at this young age, give Annika's record a run if she plays/wins a lot on the LPGA tour (saying this premature even though she hasn't even won against the women yet). Is the record of simply being a bottom rung female player on the PGA better than taking all the top accolades on the LPGA?
As good as she already is today, I don't see her as a bottom-rung player on the PGA Tour. Though she may never be a Tiger or even a Phil, I think she'll contend on the PGA Tour someday and perhaps even win. We've already seen some simply amazing flashes of brilliance...6 birdies with no bogeys in the space of 15 holes at the John Deere Classic, and now 4 birdies in five holes at the Sony. She's also getting stronger and longer. If you count her out now like Calcavecchia has, I think you're seriously underestimating her and discounting the clear evidence that is already there.
As for her LPGA Tour schedule, realize that she's playing in the maximum number of events permitted her because of her age. Her play on the PGA Tour will only improve her game, and it in no way limits her participation on the LPGA today. So where's the harm?
Isn't this a four round tournament? Let's guess her 3rd round score. NC No Crad, Did not compete, missed cut. How should we all say that she isn't teeing it up with the boys today? Want to bet she doesn't shoot 68 if she started the day at the cut line. If anyone has played for a living they know round 2 was like a practice round, other then stats it meant nothing. Other then to her marketing people and sponsers. Remember someone named Ty Tryon.
I agree with you, it is over the two days that the score counts.
The 79 is just as important as the 68.
The reason I post stats for day 2, is because some people claim that she not physically able to compete out there. Her stats of day 2 prove that she is physically able to complete.
Putting 2 rounds together is more difficult. But people who claim that she doesn't have the talent, are kidding themselves.
I don't mean you leaguegolf, I know you recognise her talents, but not everyone does.
