Wie at the Sony

Now that we've settled all the issues in the Michelle Wie on the Japanese Tour thread... I think it's time we deal with a real issue that can be settled on the course.

How will Wie do at the Sony?

I don't see her making the cut...I'd be happy to see her do it, and end all the hoopla we've read about her great accomplishments despite not making a men's cut or winning a ladies event. Alas, I think it will be a disappointing week for her...missed cut by 5 shots. Is victory going to be GR's roving on-course reporter again this year?

I think she has a good chance to make the cut. And if I say this enough times before enough tourneys, eventually it may come true!

Of course she has a good chance to make the cut. Actually making it is another matter. I hope she plays well enough to make the cut but I just don't think she will.

I think she'll make the cut, hey it might even give the people in the Michelle Wie thread a few more hundred posts to argue about whether Michelle is better than Tiger at that age... again. hahaha

She will make the cut, she should have made it the first time she played. I think she shot even par but someone had a very good day and bumped her.
Think it was 2 years ago

I think that she'll miss the cut by a few strokes. This is just a hunch based upon her relatively disappointing recent showing against a much weaker field in Japan. I hope she makes it. I'll be watching.

I say she'll make the cut right on the cut line.

All the players that made the cut had good enough days to "bump" her. Maybe she'll be doing some bumping of her own this year.

Tiger Woods & Michelle's 1st attempts on the PGA TOUR as sponsor's exemptions and their respective ages:

1st Attempt: Tiger +5 (16), Michelle E (14)
2nd Attempt: Tiger +10 (17), Michelle +9 (15)
3rd Attempt: Tiger +6 (17), Michelle -1 (15)
4th Attempt: Tiger +9 (17), Michelle ???
5th Attempt: Tiger +13 (18), Michelle ???
6th Attempt: Tiger +3 (18), Michelle ???
7th Attempt: Tiger +5 (18), Michelle ???

Running tally vs. par through 3 events: Tiger +21, Michelle +8

and with Tiger's next two at +9 & +13, Michelle looks to increase her lead..... at which time she'll be the same age as Tiger's 1st try (16)

Save that for the Michelle Wie on the Japanese Tour thread. This thread is about opinions on the upcoming Sony event.

How will Wie do at the Sony?

I don't know how anyone could imagine anything other than a missed cut.
