Wie has a world of talent; I think her main area of weakness is mental. But she's also 16!!! How mentally tought was I when I was 16?
I think Pressel will probably win sooner. But can you believe the youth in women's golf? Especially AMERICAN women's golf. I think it's fantastic. You're going to see these young women competing fiercly for the next 25-30 years, god willing.
I picked Pressel because I think she gets to play a full schedule while Michelle is limited to 8 events. Both will have great careers and I think either has a good chance to win any time they tee it up.
Pressel will be the smart choice, playing 3 times as many tournies. But I'd like to see Wie win early and start legitimizing all the hype, and quieting some of her doubters.
With Creamer, Annika and all the Korean ladies out there, both girls (Pressel, Wie) will find it tough to win. Wie's probably going to only play the bigger tourneys, which will also feature all the other big names on the LPGA. Pressel may get to play in a couple of tournies without as many big names, but I'm not sure how many tournies Annika, Creamer, etc. plan to play.
Wie has decided to play both Hawaii events at the beginning of the season.
Being home tournaments, and being right at the start, I think that cuts Wie's odds of winning before Pressel.
Annika didn't show up to the SBS last season. If Annika misses one or both tourney's or plays off form, I would think Wie has a very decent chance of taking her first lpga title.
Wie has more talent than pressel, but mentally Pressel is stronger and she will win. Until Wie overcomes the mental demons of failed PGA cuts and not winning events such as defedning the Publinks and last year's Women's U.S. Open, she won't win.
At best, I see Wie as a David Duval. It took his third year on tour to finally win after so many blown opportunities.

Pressel also failed to win the US Open, just like Wie. In fairness to Pressel she did finish better than Wie at that tournament, her only time to do so in any tournaments they have played together.
In the Publinx, Wie defended her title the next year by getting to the final and lost by one shot. Although not winning, it was a pretty decent title defense.
Not making pga cuts can hardly be taken as any kind of failure, when you are 14, 15, and 16 when competing in them.
I don't think that will affect her confidence. If anything the Sony should boost her confidence for the forthcoming lpga events.

In the U.S. Women's Open, Wie became a non-factor fairly quickly as she shot an 82 in the final round. Pressel was a factor until Birdie Kim holded her bunker shot on the final hole.
In the Women's Publink, Wie lost the final three holes (I think she bogeyed at least two by three putts) to lose the match.
Everytime, Wie is in position to make a cut, she seems to self-destruct except for 2004 Sony Open. The Deere Classic and Japanese events are good examples.
