I am a Tiger fan believe it or not, but I'm a realist as a person and that overrides how I view a good bit of things in life...one thing that I definitely admire about Tiger on his profile on PGATOUR.COM is:
FAMILY: Wife, Elin
How about that one there League....
It's Tiger golf game that I'm betting on.......not his personal life.
Another nice bet would be will Tiger win more majors in his career combined than Vijay,Phil,Ernie, and Goosen. Its all tied now at 10. Maybe you guys can bet a pair of false teethe or a couple 4 pm buffets on that one

Sure, and you can join us in 2041.......to toast Tiger on his great, but unsuccessful, run at surpassing Jack's career major victories total.
Just for sake of arguement and he doesnt pass Jack what in most peoples mind in todays tour in terms of majors would be equivalent to Jack's 18. I believe its much harder now than in Jack's day. So i would say 14 would qualify as to equal with an asterisk *. Kind of like Babe Ruth and Roger Maris. Some would disagree im sure but in true reality to have 18 majors in Tigers era would be harder than in Jack's era in my humble opinion....... By the way i have just started opening a bottle of champagne after each of his majors while i watch the golf channel post games show til 2 am ....i suggest to all Tiger fans to join me in this champagne opening from here on out as we watch interviews and highlights on TGC of Tigers majors. Nothings sweeter than watching this man chase an almost seemingly unbreakable record. Cheers Tiger!(Nobilo reference)

I'd say 18. I do not think anyone would cut Tiger any slack if he were to come up a tad short, and reason that Tiger's competition was deeper. Besides, when you're talking about legends...when you're talking about the greatest player of all time, it doesn't matter how good or deep his competition is or was. He gets it done.
Yeah your probably right in terms of no slack...but in reality he may have a case. Tiger without a doubt is the better player than Jack its just now a matter of whether he will be a better champion. If he doesnt get injured the wins total that Jack has will be history and Tiger will probably pass Snead as well. The majors total should be passed as well even though those babies are hard to come by.
I personally think Tiger will pass both, with the wins total coming before the majors total. Either way, as droogy said, to be #1, he'll need 19 majors...no slack allowed. Tiger himself would admit that.
