Golf-a-holic and I have a difference of opinion as to who will win the most majors this year. I say that Tiger would be favored to win any particular major over the other members of the Top 5 (Singh, Goosen, Mickelson, Els) and golf-a-holic says the others "carry as much weight" as Tiger. Initially we debated the odds of any of the Top 5 winning a major and the "debate" evolved into a personal bet.
The bet is a $20.00 dinner and the conditions are as follows:
If Tiger wins a Major tournament in 2006, Golf-a-holic must buy me dinner.
If Singh, Els, Goosen, or Mickelson, win a Major, I must buy Golf-a-holic dinner.
The bet must be paid within the week of any one of the Top 5 hoisting a major tournament trophy.
So this is a recurring bet with each of the Majors? If so, it is a tough call as to which of you with get the most free dinners. The odds are 4-1 against you, but your 1 is Tiger so you can't go to far wrong there can you? I think I will go with the odds, even though I really like Tigers chances. Either way, good luck to you both.
I like league's chances...3 of the Big Four, with Mickelson being the exception, have shown reason for me to doubt them this year, while Tiger seems to be hitting his stride. The one big factor that could change the tide is Tiger's father's health...from some accounts, he is doing very poorly now and with as close as those two are, I'm sure it will have an effect on Tiger.
I think it's meant to be a play on words...debet=dee bet...such as "I won dee money...dee money is mine."
We already had the great debate once, so this makes sense, I suppose.
You mean, "da bet"..."da money"...?
Shouldn't this be "Da Great Bet"? Or "Da Bet"? "Great Debet" is like saying "Great the Bet" which is just stupid, and I give leaguegolf more credit than to say something stupid.
We have a part of town here in Pgh where a bookie says to a customer of his, "did you make-a de-bet?".....that's what League and I happened to do....we make-a de-bet.....which each odder....
