Pat Perez Shoots 60 At The Bob Hope Chrysler Classic
Let the birdie barrage begin!
Pat Perez, a guy who has a ton of talent, but hasn't really played to his potential just put up a 60 in the opening round of the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic. This tournament always seems to bring out the low scores. Other early leaders are Steve Elkington (Love this guys swing) at -8 and Olin Brown at -7.

The reason the scores are always so low at the Bob Hope is that they need to have easier pin placements so as not to embarrass the celebs that are playing. If they had regular Tour pin locations it would get silly...
Wow, great round by Perez. Maybe he'll be allotted some TV coverage for it!
Actually he got some coverage on the USA Network, which is televising the first three rounds of the tournament. I'm waiting to see what he does today. The conditions are suppose to windier, which could mean lower scores.
I think David shoot about 3 under yesterday. Which is a good sign for him. I looking for the cut line to be anywhere from 4 to 6 under. It would definitely be encouraging for him to make two cuts in a row.

Maybe all the talk about him and Wie has spurred him on!
Only if he's about 25 under on the weekend....maybe...
Seems to me Mr. Perez has created his own history of not getting TV coverage. I wonder if him and the hole he had problems with last year have made up yet?

Well, it's entirly possible that a score of 25 to 28 under could win it. After two rounds Chad Campbell's at 15 under. It's going to be interesting see how low these guys can go especially if they get favorable scoring conditions.
I'd say that 15 under after two rounds would constitute favorable scoring conditions.
Well you can up that to 19 under after three rounds.
It will be interesting to see if Chad Campbell can hold on to his lead. He was in great postion going into the final round of the Sony Open but couldn't close the deal.

69 - 78 - 69 ... David's got some ground to make up.... his day will come again.

Looks like David is having a good round today...7 under so far, including a stretch of 9 holes which included 6 birdies and an eagle, to bring him under the cut line with 3 holes to play.

He struggled a bit on Sunday, but he's showing a lot of competitive spirit and he's making cuts. That's GOT TO HELP HIS CONFIDENCE.
The issue now is can he take the next step, which is putting four good solid rounds in one tournament to at least get a top 25 finish.
