The Daly Planet on The Golf Channel

I really hope this show does well for JD. I saw some of the previews and it looks like we will have an opportunity to see Johns "Raw" side... not that we havent already had a taste.

I'll give it a shot. I really like John. I hope they don't turn it into some lame soap opera type show.

It has to be better than the Big Break.

Watched it but thought the best part was the Winn grip commercial with Butch Harmon. Daly says something like "We are different because I can drive 300 yard par 4's." To which Butch replys "Well I can sink four footers."

I really enjoyed the Daly Planet. I don't want to give anything way or ruin it for anyone who hasn't already seen it. John is just a good ole boy like the guys my Uncles played golf with down in N.C. during my summers down there. Sorta brought back some fond memories for me.

I have to say, he came across as somewhat of a sad character for me. Don't get me wrong, I'm a HUGE JD fan, but I almost wonder if he kind of played up a few things to kind of match his reputation. The comments about drinking at 9:30 in the morning and so on... I don't know. It made me kind of sad, really. I guess I was kind of hoping for a more mature, more reflective Daly.

That being said, it gave you a taste of "The Life." Man - working from 9 to 9 then flying home - that's gotta be tough.

Someone just told me today of a site that maintains a copy of every commercial made, but you have to pay to view because of the storage and bandwidth they use. I don't remember the site though. I'll have to ask tomorrow.

I looked, but I could not find it there, nor could I find it on the Winn Grips website.

I dont know why I find it so funny. There really isnt much to it but it cracks me up.

Butch Harmon is slowly and carefully placing his ball on a tee. John Daly comes rolling in rather quickly and flicks Butch's ball off the tee with the toe of his driver and ploops his ball down on the tee saying "Look out, we don't have time for this" (or something like that) and smacks the ball. The commercial tells you all about the new Winn Grips and how there are different feels for different people. After that, Daly says something like "We are different because I can drive 300 yard par 4's." To which Butch replys "Well I can sink four footers." (I used drstrouds quote here because I couldn't remember it all).
