Tiger STEALS spot from struggling pro!!

I was looking at the Dubai Desert Classic site today and couldn't believe my eyes...here in the list of tournament entries (http://www.dubaidesertclassic.com/in...display&ceid=2), I see that Tiger Woods is in the field on a sponsor's exemption!! This is utterly preposterous...what an insult to the struggling pros on the European Tour who are working to feed their families that this guy can come waltzing in and take a spot whenever he chooses! I say we start a petition to send to the tournament committee and have him removed from the event.

Anyone else disgusted that the Dubai Desert Classic committee would do such a disgraceful thing, given the hundreds of struggling pros out there?

And even worse, Card, they are probably paying him more that the winners purse of $400,000 just to show up! Just another example of golf caving in to the hype!

Probably around 7 times the $400,000 winner's purse just to show up.

LOL - and worth every cent, in my opinion. I wonder how many more viewers will be watching TGC's late evening coverage this weekend?

Yeah that no good **** he travels around the world to promote the great game of golf how could he take someones spot. Why would he go to Dubai when he could sit home at Isleworth and look at his new trophy? Oh well maybe he feels its his responsibility as the number 1 player in the world to travel and be an ambassodor. Good for him its about time some others step up to the plate.

The man can do what most can not. I feel for both parties, I understand the frustration, but I can relate to the buzz he will generate now that he will be playing. I wouldnt turn down money to play golf if I had Tigers abilities.

just my 2 pennies.

Does Tiger's annual appearance at the event have any positive effect on the total purse? I haven't researched to back this up. Just my first thought.

Els should be there, plus Tiger, plus Goosen? It sounds as if it's a good idea to have 3 of the "Big Five" there, if that's the case.

The problem is who would watch the Dubai Desert Classic if Tiger was not playing? You have to understand that part of the world. If you trying to get international coverage to promote the Dubai Desert Classic you need Tiger.
