BTW..You don't have to have a picturesque swing to have a low handicap.
So true.. Raymond Floyd is a perfect example. TGC had a good show about him last night on the Golf Academy. They broke down his swing, and proved that you don't need a picture-perfect cookie-cutter swing to be a great golfer.
He's an ACTOR, he doesn't have to be athletic just look the part!
True, although I'd contend that you can't fake athleticism. It takes some natural talent to play as many different sports-related parts and pull them off in a believable fashion as he has.
Quaid may not have the most athletic golf swing, but I think his roles in numerous sports movies say otherwise about his athleticism.

Just because he has been in other sports movies doesn't automatically grant him athleticism. There have been many other actors and actresses who have been in sports movies... but that doesn't mean they are elite athletes. Hence the term actor...acting.

You're talking about his role in a sports movie and I'm talking about the athleticism he displayed while performing in those roles. Big difference. I also never mentioned the word "elite." There's even a bigger difference there. It takes athleticism to make the actor look the part. A perfect example is comparing Quaid (The Rookie) to Charlie Sheen (Major League) in their roles as major league baseball pitchers. Sheen looked like an actor trying to throw a baseball and Quaid actually looked like he belonged on the mound. That's where Quaid's athleticism carried the role and that's not something every "actor" can pull off.

Well I guess his athleticism is just a matter of opinion then. You mentioned the "numerous sports movies" that show his athleticism. He has starred in 47 movies since the start of his acting carreer. Out of all of those movies he has only played a sports figure 3 times.... unless you want to count the movie "BREAKING AWAY" which he hopped on a bike and pedaled for 3mins during the movie.(THE ROOKIE, ANY GIVEN SUNDAY, & EVERYBODY WANTS TO BE AN ALL AMERICAN) These are the only 3 movies in which he stars as an athlete, or plays an athletic role.

Quaid looked so athletic in those movies that it just seemed they were numerous!
