For me, it's always interesting to see who has what kind of handicap, and which pro-am team is greatly helped by an amateur having a better-than-expected week.
I used to enjoy watching this event........until CBS turned it into the Ray Romano Show. He's not funny, his golf game is even worse, and the only reason he's there is so CBS Loves Raymond can plug his lame TV show. Same sorry schtic every year. At least Bill Murray shows up with decent swing and new material. You might catch some of Murray and some other celebs if they can take the cameras off of Romano and his just as sorry buddy long enough to show a minute or two.

Now that Everybody Loves Raymond in no longer in production, leaguegolf, maybe CBS will tone down its "Ray" coverage. By the way, your post sounds a lot like a Robert "jealous big brother" Barone rant!
I stopped watching this tournament when the amateurs' antics started getting more attention than the pros' play. I like Bill Murray, but his "routines" started a trend of greater attention to the amateur aspect that I don't find particularly interesting. I can watch guys play like that at the local muni every day of the week--and be funnier doing it! Of course, I still haven't gotten over the loss of Bing Crosby and Phil Harris to the tournament coverage.
Thanks for reminding me not to watch. Great venue, great pro field. Change the format for the amatuers to Thurs to Sat. Sunday, pro only. I know many of you will say "It's tradition, the way Bing wanted it". Well they used hickory shafts in Bing's day too"
I don't want to watch those hacks bunt it around the course.
The guy I am getting tired of watching at the Pro-Ams is George Lopez. The fact that I don't particularly find him funny might have something to do with it, but the guy is everywhere.

George Lopez has quickly become a Romano wannabe.
Hey Lopez.....Fred Sanford (Redd Fox) called and wants all his ethnic jokes back!

I have to agree. I watch golf on T.V. to see pro's. As much as we see celebrities dancing, ice skating etc. If they want their own golf tournaments by all means let them have them.
