Don't Know if these events are so good for either tour

I don't like the idea of people being on both the European and PGA tour. Without the World Golf events, some of the events in the PGA and European tour would be stronger. In the PGA, it would probably be events like New Orleans, Houston, Canada, Memphis.

The WGC events are lucky Tiger has dominated, or they would already be scrapped or close to it by now.

The World Golf Events are becoming the same joke the World series is outside of USA. World according to USA is not the same as the other 6 billion people see it.

USA has a huge natural advantage due to the size of its market place, and the USPGA abuse that strength at the detriment of others, which is why they are so unpopular outside USA and inside when Tiger and others point out their flaws.

Like the British know the first thing about baseball.

Yeah, the PGA Tour is so despised and unpopular that the best Euro players are leaving in droves! It doesn't look to me like the vast majority of "foreign" players share your opinion. If they did they certainly wouldn't be playing the majority of their yearly schedules here in the USA now would they?

Perhaps the "World" part of the WGC represents the players participating in the tournaments and not the location.

Just a thought........How many of those (meaning GR members) that are constantly complaining about the PGA Tour and it's policies have ever even attended a professional golf tournament?

My complaint is that Tiger is complaining about the World Golf events without threatening a boycott. If he hates waht they are doing so much, he should threaten to boycott just like Ernie actually does on occasion.

Talk is cheap. Tiger is never going to boycott anything. He has an image to protect. That's not a knock on Tiger because I don't expect him to risk his sponsorship income for a cause that only affects very few.

We invented it, it is a girls game called rounders played by jessies who throw their toys out of the pram when the batsman gets hit by the ball. In a real man's game, like cricket, having the ball fly past your ears is just part of the game . Yes a cricket ball does reach 100 mph and it is heavier than a baseball.

That explains everything. Didn't they tell you that you were supposed to duck and not take those 100 mph balls off your skull?

He has the clout and also enough money (that he doesn't need to keep the sponsors) to boycott the events. To Tiger, take a stand or be quiet...

I don't think anyone wants Tiger to stop voicing his opinion but it's not his job to change the location of the WGC events.

Tiger doesn't need to boycott anything, or threaten a boycott. His words alone are enough to alert the ears of the Tour brass.

BTW, when did Ernie ever boycott any of these events? I know he's missed a few, but it certainly wasn't out of protest.

Actually there is a tournament that Tiger boycott's. It's the one here in New Orleans. Seems the one time he played in it, our former "crooked" mayor tried to charge him $1 millon dollars for security. Since then he doesn't even come here for his foundation.

Ernie missed the matchplay because he dislikes the course and set up.

Still, that's hardly what you would consider a boycott.

Its great to see the different opinions on this subject.
So here's mine.
The US set up Tournaments and call them "Majors" or "World Events" and then proceed to limit the number of overseas golfers who can play in them.

The European Tour now includes Tournaments in the Far East, Australia, Asia and Africa.
Why?
Because the weather in Europe is not reliable for most of the year and many members of the European Tour come from those neck of the woods.

Golf is becoming a Worldwide game so why shouldn't the best players play worldwide and then they can really say the are the 'WORLDS BEST'.
