I got it alright it's just the subtlety (hence Eddie Murphy) that defeats me - like leaving out the "u" in humour

Subtlety? Me? I find it's more a case of humor being left out of "u".

That support structure was not available to Bernard Langer, Gary Player, Nick Faldo, Seve Ballesteros etc. I lived in Germany when Ballesteros and Langer were kids breaking into the European tour. I played one event (German Open) and was paired with guys from the U.K. that had sponsors like "Bob's plumbing" on their bags. 3 of them arrived in a VW micro bus that they lived in while driving from one tournament to the next.

Lets give these foreign guys a break and wish them well. Their road to the top is often a heck of a lot harder than ours. The game I was taught by my father didn't really pay much attention to nationality, race, economic situation etc. Hitting the little white ball was the only thing that counted.
Conversely the australian club system offers access to golf to australians across economic demographics. Their club system makes it affordable for kids to take up the game and if these kids show promise they have a national system of coaches and tournaments that encourage the progress of their youth. So while America may have a great college system they don't go quite as good a job of making the game accessible to many of our nations youth.

It's no small wonder that australians are such prominent forces on both the European PGA and american PGA tours.

League the instigator! I think he's been hanging with me too long

Though quite seriously, I was really surprised to learn that Tiger would have won the European Tour Order of Merrit several times by now if he had ever played in enough events for membership.

It is a heavy burden to rely on the mighty Tiger to bring home the bacon all the time... ...where`s the next Tiger going to come from it wouldn`t surprise me at all if the next Tiger comes from...Sweden, some day in the not too distant future...imo...!

Isn't the climate in Sweden a little too chilly for tigers?

Smoking's bad for your health League
We're waiting for the Majors before we Euros start winning; our big names haven't been playing on our tour yet this season.
And of course we're saving our best golf for September ... no point in peaking too early this season .

HAVEN'T BEEN AROUND FOR A WHILE , so the lads don't know my health is improving and I'm coming back on rootin ' duty.
Peter Alliss called me "the unofficial mascot of the European Tour" and I've been absent for almost a season ...
