Is Ames cleaning Tiger's clubs and taking them back out to the courtesy car?

Ames is being interviewed now...got lucky with Judy Rankin as the interviewer. She went easy on him.

Tiger in his interview has a smirk on his face...Rankin asked if he had any extra motivation. Without hesitation, he said "Oh yes...Stephen provided it." Rankin then said something about Tiger showing Stephen just where to hit it, and Tiger responded "Oh yeah, I think he knows now. "

Well, this looks to be a CLEAR disadvantage for Tiger moving forward in the tournament.

He'll have no experience on the back 9...

In another note...Tiger said this was his biggest winning margin in an 18 hole match ever. Prior, he had won 8 & 7. Also, ESPN reported that never in a men's USGA competition had someone won 10 & 8. That woulda been really cool. Too bad Tiger didn't drive it in the fairway on 10.

Isn't that the saying, the 9-hole lead is the most precarious. He probably just lost focus on 10.

Woods VS Ames

Poor Ames took some beating today, losing the match 9 and 8. Tiger was 9 up with 9 holes played and on tenth hole, they tied and the match was over.

A question for you, the golf historians...what is the shortest 18 hole match play in the PGA ranks?

Would 9 and 8 win come close to it?

I hoped Tiger would say he is still suffering with the flu, but he hoped to be 100% tomorrow..................

Westwood must feel sick throwing ina 6 after 26 holes

We have another expression in Texas for Tigers' performance today

"Just a good ole fashion barnyard butt whuppin"

You'd think people would learn by now not to talk smack to Tiger.

10 & 9 is impossible in an 18 hole match. Tiger actually won 9 & 8 which is almost as bad.

You don't happen to know GR member mr3856a do you? You two look an awful lot alike!

May not be safe to go there - they may start fighting for likeness rights.

Well done to Tiger, Phil, Davis, John and all the other 1st round winners.

Yours faithfully

It seems that it does not pay to get the Tiger riled. Tiger won the match 9/8. Later when asked if he was aware of the remark that had been made he said he was. When asked what he thought of the remark he replied, "9/8":

A lot of matches went to the 18th and beyond, which shows the strength of the format and the field.

But when Casey loses to Stenson after shooting 70 and O Hair wins shooting 71 against Freddie , you have to take the luck of the draw
