Jim Gray's interview of John Daly during your coverage of the WGC Accenture Match Play Championships was a disgrace. Apparently Mr. Gray didn't learn much from his similarly distasteful interview with Pete Rose a few years back.
Asking a guy about his wife being in jail, particularly when he's signing autographs for fans, was disgusting to watch.
Jim Gray owes John Daly an apology, and if he has an ounce of class in his body, he'll do it on TV.
Vulture in search of carcasses to scavenge. He is not smart enough to be aware that in his effort to humiliate others, all he really does is humiliate himself.
Well, the only Pete Rose story worth hearing about the past 20 years is the gambling story. JD, with his TGC freak show and lack of recent success is not far off that pace.
Well, Jim Gray was at it again on Saturday night.
At least this time he was FAR away from my PGA Tours guys and sticking to something a little more suitable for his style.
Glad to hear that it wasn't just me who wanted to ring that guy's neck.
"John Daly's rarely left speechless, but ESPN's Jim Gray managed it Thursday when he kept asking the golfer questions about his imprisoned wife as he signed autographs. One word comes to mind: insensitive."

the fact that John Daly's wife is in prison for being a criminal(basically selling drugs, evading taxes and promoting an illegal gambling ring) does not seem to me to have to be off limits. Was it neccessary to ask Daly? No? Is it a big deal? No. Gray basically asked if this situation affecting his performance and that is news and its his job to do it. Regarding the Rose questioning .Rose deserved what he got, not for gambling on baseball but for being a liar and Gray called him out as a liar. Its why its easier to respect Giambi who at least admits to doing steroids than for Bonds and Mcgwire who just lie and say stop bothering me. Giambi has the right to say stop botheringme. I admitted I did it what more do you want. Bonds and Mcgwire deserve what they get until they come clean. By the way there have been 2 other documented interviews with Daly prior by other reporters who asked the same question after the Buick Invitational.
