Oh I don't know, hormones often play a role, sometimes you can cry easily but not really feel that sad. I don't think it necessarily shows lack of strength. You can get really annoyed with yourself if you can't stop the tears. It is a real pain to show everyone your weakness when you don't feel particularly weak.

People probably expect me to go against Pressel for obvious reasons, but I think there wasn't any major problem with her interview.

She cried. Big deal. Roger Federer cries too, and he is probably one of the greatest sports people of all time. A few tears, won't harm a career.

Even if it was due to being annoyed at Wie beating her, there still isn't a big problem about that.

Numerous posters have suggested that Pressel's tears were due to her being so geared up to try to show Wie up, because Pressel had been talking herself up, and had critised Wie and questioned Wie's ability to handle pressure.

As other posters stated, it is perfectly plausible that Pressel was most frustrated by not performing as she would have liked, when she was so determined to play well, while in Wie's group.

If that is what caused most of the emotion for Pressel, then that is fine because she will grow out of it. In any case she may have to get used to being outplayed by Wie.
