Is she going to cry after every tournament she doesn't win ? I cut her some slack after the Open because she was beaten by a real bolt out of the blue, but she finished 6 shots back today. She was never really in it and didn't play all that poorly (71), but again the floodgates open. I don't know if she's ready for all of this.
Didn't see what you described, waz, but I've been wondering about her, too. Some of it I've been ascribing too teenaged angst, some to her personal life (death of mother, apparent alienation from father), some to the pressure of huge success and attention at an early age.
I don't know what triggered it Jim. I caught the tail end of her post-round interview and she just seemed to be re-counting her round, how it wasn't her day, etc. and the tears were flowing.
Then again, so people are just "wired" that way. Hard to say....
Just checked out her card for today over at lpga.com. Assuming she started on No. 1, she was 3 under after 16, then bogeyed 17 and 18. Pretty disappointing, I'd imagine....
I thought she was crying because she was talking a bunch of **** and it came back to bite her. I didn't know she cried after the open. So, I dunno, that isn't good though. Maybe the pressure is getting to her and being paired up with Wie today didn't help.
I saw the interview. She was just asked the normal, "What happened out there today" kind of question and the tears began flowing. That young lady seems to putting a lot of pressure on herself. Her expectations are high. I think Creamer talks more trash. Wie just seems to roll with the punches. The next few years ought to be charged up with these three.
Wie has to or it would be unbearable. She's getting slammed from every direction. They bash her everywhere, just look at some of the rhetoric here. In her interview she repeatedly said, people have the right to their opinion. That's the best attitude she could have.
By "people" ... you think she means Creamer? That's going to be a huge rivalry. When I was a tennis addict, it was Chris vs Martina. It was good for tennis...and Evert improved. Michelle appears to have the demeanor to weather this stuff.
It's a little bit worrisome, but she displays a toughness out on the course that shouldn't worry too many. I still think Creamer will have the best LPGA career of the Wie-Creamer-Pressel triumvirate, but regardless, it'll be exciting to watch over develop the next 10+ years!!

Creamer, Pressel and a lot of people in the media are also all over her. LIke she says, everyone has the right to their opinion.
I think Pressel said, that she was most annoyed with her putting, but also various parts of her game let her down that she had been practicing on.
She said she sets very high expectations for herself and is diappointed when she doesn't meet them.
She shouldn't be so downcast. It was after only 2 tournaments. She has many more chances. I think the big thing under it all was she knew what she had said about Wie and she wanted to play better when they were paired together. She should just concentrate on her own game.
Where is Tom Hanks when you need him? I saw the interview and you would think she just lost the US Open on the 72nd hole. It looks as though she may be a bit to inmature for the LPGA at this stage of her like. I admit she has the game, but if she can't keep her emotions in check she's going to implode.
All I know is that it has become more entertaining to watch a LPGA event than the PGA specifically because of the three personalitites and how they wear there hearts on there sleves (except for wie who is the straight girl) Wish there was more passion to golf. A year after Sabbratini got fed up with crane thats all we heard during the Buick from the great Nick Faldo of how it was terrible and in poor taste man the pga got to realize that its an entertainment buisness. The girls are egging each other on and making for some great entertainment. The only reason I watched the lpga this weekend was to see how they would react to each other.

I've got to agree here. I saw the interview on the post-game show and they asked Peter Osterhaus (spelling?) if he thought it had anything to do with her being outplayed by Wie and he said no. I have to believe that deep down it crushed her confidence to see Wie bombing it past her on every hole and playing so well. Morgan had to know that Michelle missed two very makeable putts that would have given her her first win in her first start as a professional. That has to be unsettling.
I think Pressel has been told so many positive things and had the idea that she was good enough to beat the best and she's quickly realizing it isn't going to be easy.
