Tiger's still hitting into groups ahead

I know we have discussed this before but Tiger continues to hit into groups ahead of him. It's just a matter of time before he hits someone in the group ahead. Did anyone see Camilo Villegas trying to protect himself from a Tiger Woods tee shot? There is NO excuse for anyone to hit into a group ahead. From the results of another thread "Hit into again", most people said they would do something (pick up the ball, hit it back, call the marshall, hit it in the woods, stomp on it). So what makes Tiger any different. Sure he's the best player in the world, but he should know better. He IS going to hit someone its just a matter of time gents.....just a matter of time.

There was no way Tiger was getting the ball to the green on 16 yesterday when he hit, so that'd probably have something to do with the reason why. Only one guy got it to the green all day, and that was Bubba Watson who was left of the surface. I don't think the wind was up enough for Tiger to carry it the required 330 and it didn't look like he took quite the vicious lash he did at it last year on Saturday.

Tell that to Camilo Villegas. He knows Tiger CAN and has reached that green and he KNOWS Tiger has no problem hitting into the group ahead.

It was blowing hard downwind last year and not helping as much this year. Fans started yelling "Fore!" which is why Villegas ducked like he did.

Are you saying Tiger does not hit into groups ahead or this it is ok for him to hit into groups ahead?

I'm saying Tiger didn't intentionally hit into the group ahead of him on #16 yesterday...it was a calculated decision based on the fact that he knew he couldn't reach the green. Today he went at it and came up 15 yards short of the surface with an all-out swing, so how could he have flown it on in similar conditions yesterday?

I think the reason he did it was because it was starting to get late and the day and he wanted to finish the round before it got too dark.

When you watch it on TV it looks a lot brighter outside then it actually is.

I'm not just referring to yesterday. Anytime they play a course with a drivable par 4 he is hitting while players are still on the green. It sets a bad example for golf period.

The only reason Camilo Villegas covered his head with his hands is because he heard the people in Tiger Wood's gallery yell fore.

No he is not the only one who does it. When John Daly came on the scene and was hitting into groups he was blasted by the media. Now when Tiger does it very little if nothing is said. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching Tiger and by far am not a Tiger hater. I would like to see the PGA tour officials put a stop to the long hitters hitting into groups while they are in range.

I'm somewhat dumbfounded by those who are actually defending Tiger's actions. If a player is capable of coming within even 30 yards of a group ahead then they should hold off on hitting. That is common sense. The thud of the ball landing that far behind you is enough to throw someone's concentration out the window. Not to mention the fact that he's been known to blast some drives in the 375yrd range without helping wind.

I remember watching him hit into groups atleast 3 times last season. Once even running it up on the green during someone's putt. There really is no excuse for that kind of behavior. Not only is it dirty it is also dangerous. But like mentioned above, I am in no way a Tiger hater either. I just wish he'd maintain a better name for himself then acting so careless.

What do you define "hitting into a group"?

If it is a drivable par four on some days, and a tour player steps up to the tee judges the condition and says "No way I am getting it there today, I am going to lay up", and he does lay up, is that hitting into someone?
