Tiger to play the World Match Play

Tiger Woods has just announced that he will play the World Match Play Championships at Wentworth this year. It marks the first appearance by Tiger since 1998.

This is great news for us over the pond

I'm definately going to do my best to see Tiger in the flesh (work and wife permitting!!), a true modern day legend, I'd love to see just how well he plays the beautiful game with my own eyes!!

Can't wait.

I had heard of this...the Matchplay is the week after the WGC I believe so if he were to play the event, it would definitely have been this year. Good news for that event...hopefully more of the top players follow suit.

The HSBC Match Play is also the week before the Ryder Cup.

Didn't Tiger sign some sort of deal with HSBC last year while he was playing in China? That would explain why he'd play the HSBC events more frequently.
