Where's Tiger?

I just heard on the radio that he's nowhere to be found at Sawgrass. He missed his practice round and didn't show up at his news conference and there's speculation he may withdraw from teh Players Championship, although he hasn't yet. And here's a link i found on espn.

Is there a pro-am at the Player's? If there is and he missed it, doesn't that mean he's out anyhow?

My only guess is that his father isn't doing well and he had to leave suddenly. Why else would nobody know where he is.. I bet something comes out pretty soon in the news.

Well, I just this news on ESPN radio, and I hope it's not true, but it sounds like Tiger's Woods' father is very, very sick and near death. Like I said, take that with a grain of salt, it's a rumor I heard on the radio, but it could explain a lot.

It's probably likely that Earl Woods is failing and that's the cause for Tiger's absence. I don't see any other explanation, although I pray that is not the case.

I really hope Earl Woods is doing all right, and there is some other explanation. If not, I hope he manages to pull through whatever complications there are.

I just read a news report that Tiger had chartered a private plane to California to be with his dad. This came from officials at the TPC. There will be an announcement later today on whether Tiger will play this week.

Here's the latest...

However, Woods' agent said Wednesday afternoon that he would indeed return to play this weekend.

"Tiger Woods was off-site today for personal reasons," said Mark Steinberg of IMG, "but intends to be back at the TPC Sawgrass in time for his first-round tee time Thursday at 12:33 p.m. (ET)."

PGA Tour officials confirmed earlier that Woods is "not on site," but insisted that he didn't withdrawn from the tournament despite some rampant speculation that he had.

Greetings ...

For the latest reports on Tiger Woods' Wednesday absence from the Players course, go to this YAHOO! News Service Search Link. Put in either Tiger Woods or Earl Woods, and sift thru the results.

Thoughts and Prayers go to the Woods Family

Solemn Thanx, Frank-0-Sport

Prayers for Earl and Tiger from here. Earl is a Special soldier and his Son is as well. Request all Vietnam Vets and US Army, keep them both in prayers at this time.

I don't think there is or else the news reports would have mentioned that Tiger is out of the tournament.

I certainly wish both Tiger and his dad that best!

It's going to be very interesting to see how Tiger handles this. Someone mentioned some time ago that Tiger has really "had it easy" so to speak with lifes' circumstances. Most of the high-profile players have had to play after the death of a loved one, whether it be a parent or a spouse, and it has affected them as expected. Tiger hasn't had to do this. I'm not putting Earl in the grave yet, and I hope he pulls through, but if/when Earl does indeed pass away I wonder how it will affect Tiger? Food for thought. Simp

My opinion. We've seen how Tiger plays when someone talks trash. And golf is a game where you need to be in control, so getting hot headed over something is usually not good in golf, unlike McEnroe in tennis, for example. When something hits him emotionally, he seems to focus more. I think he'll dig deeper than he ever has and do what he does best. My opinion.

Hope Earl is OK.
Why else would Tiger disappear?
Golf is just a game and family will always come first.
