I would love to see the course play firm and fast and see how the players deal with it. The last couple of years it's been playing quite soggy so the approaches have been sticking to the green (for Augusta). My pick is Goosen to come 2nd to Tiger. Who does anybody else pick to come 2nd?
Any one else looking forward to The Masters this year? How will the new changes to Augusta affect the players strageties?
Nah, I'm not really into that tournament.
I'm not sure that the changes will affect the players' strategies very much. It's still a matter of knowing where you can afford to miss and where you can not. It may just come down to club selection.
If you guys want me to pick you up some souveniers check my other post in the General Golf Discussion Forum called "Anyone goig to the Masters on Thurs or Friday. I'd be more than happy to pick up some goodies for you.

Assuming Tiger plays...I'd put him in the driver's seat. He looked pretty good today at the Tavistock Cup and Isleworth is known to be set up extremely fast to help him prepare for Augusta.
I like Goosen as a strong contender against Tiger and my darkhorse is Allenby. He played well at Bay Hill and TPC and I think he's primed for a good run in Augusta.
Actually I do that to keep crooks from trying to sell them on E Bay.
We do the same thing with guitars. Any time we post photos we cover the serial number. Many a time on guitar forums we post photos of our newest piece and next thing you know it shows up on e bay for sale with some crook scamming people out of some big $.
that is a tiny little green that slopes so much from back down to front. Many of the approach shots will now go long. That will be one difficult pitch/chip coming back.
We love sitting behind 7 although the 3rd green 4th tee is one of the best spots on the course.
I think #7 will be averaging over par, but it has always demanded an accurate approach. The pro's can do it from 150 just like they do from 75 - 100. In fact, they may have less spin on the ball, which should work for them.
I am more curious how 15 plays with the added length. I think you may see more players in the left woods trying to draw the ball on Sunday for a chance to hit the green in 2. That should be a vastly improved golf hole.
My picks include Tiger and Goosen, but my surprise pick is Bernard Langer and Olazabel.
Langer is just so smart around these thinking type courses. My fear is he just can't hit it long enough over 4 rounds. A shorter hitter can sqeeze out 1 or 2 good rounds but 4 days at 7,500 yds, I just don't know. I would love to see him win again though.
