Did anyone else catch Ed Bradley's piece on Tiger tonight on 60 minutes, with extensive interviews with Tiger and his mom ? It was very good, but did I hear Bradley say that that Tiger's initial Masters win was the first Major win by a minority (accompanied by the sound of Lee Trevino falling out of his Lazyboy) or did he say it was the first Masters win by a minority ?

I didn't pay close enough attention, but right at the part where they were at Tiger's Learning Center my cable decided to die for no apparent reason! Really weird because it was a clear day and is a clear night here in Lubbock, so it's not like a thunderstorm wiped it out or anything. A girl from another room in the dorm came by and said that the cable company won't do anything about it unless a whole bunch of us call them up and complain. I tried to, but since I was using my cell phone the automated voice thing looked at the number and told me to please try again because it wasn't a Lubbock area phone number.

He said first minority to win a MAJOR, probably nothing more than a little slip up by Bradley.
The show hasn't finished yet here...overall its been a pretty good interview.
He definitely said "major." Overall, I thought it was a very good interview and for those who didn't catch it, you can watch tons of clips of the interview and some that weren't on the show here: http://news.yahoo.com/60minutes

I really enjoyed the interview, especially some of Katilda's comments. She came off as a very strong and sharp lady. Bradley's "little slip up" just perpetuates one of the fictions about Tiger, first trotted out by Nike when he turned pro. Tiger as some sort of civil rights icon breaking down barriers, which was of course absurd and they quickly backed off of it. As a long-time fan of Sifford, Trevino, Elder, Peete and Thorpe, it's always rubbed me the wrong way.
In an interview with Paul Rougefort (sp) during the Players did I hear Paul mention Tigers "son" or was I hearing things?. If I did its the first mention of him having a child. It came up while talking about his yacht " Privacy" and who's on it and who's not on it.
