While a single shot doesnt equate to 65, "if this" "if that" and if this" does equate to a michelle wie or fact that matter Lorena Ochoa victory. The "if" in the sentence sets up a hypothetical and a conditional, so if you are accepting the condition you must then accept the outcome. Example - If Webb had forgotten to sign her card, Ochoa would have own. True statement? The "if" & its condition accepted to have happened equates to the resulting outcome? YES. Simple Logic.

Getting off the negative bandwagon (and staying there), my final thoughts on the tournament:

First off, it was great overall. The course was set up the way a major course should be - demanding yet fair. Some intruiging names in contention and some really exciting golf. This tournament was a smashing success for the LPGA.

Next, great story with Karrie Webb. They were saying she had been down in the dumps and depressed about the state of her game, and it was nice to see her win. I would also argue that if that shot had been hit to win the men's tournament being played in Georgia this week, it would go down in golfing lore forever.

I was also glad to see Lorena play the way she did. I've always liked her, liked her game, and though she certainly did falter, she made a spectacular golf shot in the clutch on 18 with that 5-wood, and I'm guessing learned a lot in the process.

Michelle played solid, steady golf, and missed the playoff by an inch? Maybe half? Either way, she showed she has taken great strides the way she played. She belongs, no doubt about it. Kudos to her for a great week.

And let's not forget about Natalie Gulbis - I was maybe most impressed by her. Calm, cool and collected under pressure, hit some great putts, gave herself a shot. I think she's gone a long way to show she ain't just a pretty face. Awesome tournament, congrats to her as well.

Like I said, the '06 Kraft Nabiso was a huge hit for the LPGA, and hopefully a little show of what we're in for on the LPGA tour for the next 20 years. Great tournament!

If I knock one in from 100 yards, that's part luck and part skill.
If a pro knocks 1 in from 100 yard and it goes in on the fly... OR rattles the flag... OR bounces in, then there is some luck involved. If one of the best players in the history of the game, in the midst of a tremendous round, takes dead aim from 100 yards and it take a couple of hops and rolls and drops in center cut like a well struck putt... calling that lucky is just sour grapes, IMO. We'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

Then it was extremely poor judgement. There aren't more than a handful of golfers in the world that would've or should hit wedge, that close, from that tight a lie in that situation under that kind of pressure. Ray Floyd is the only one I can think of off the top of my head.
