Phil's now -4 thru 9 on his second round, and -13 overall. Shaping up to be a good week for Mr. Mickelson, and should give him a shot of confidence heading into Augusta.

Thank God he at least got a little bit of a haircut in the back there. That long hair looked awful on him. Phil's not a guy who can pull of the Sergio look. Keep it short, Phil.

Follow him around the course sometime and then tell me if you think he is still boring. I have, and he is one of the most inventive players I have seen and he has a great sense of humor.

I've followed Phil before. Now granted, he's no Tiger Woods or John Daly. I'd pay any amount of money to watch them. But I enjoyed following Phil around b/c he doesn't make a lot of pars. He'll shoot a 72 with 8 birdies on his scorecard. He's very aggressive and takes chances. Sometimes the guys you think are boring, really aren't.

As for the tournament, I wouldn't hand Phil the trophy just yet. Remember, he shot 12-under the first 2 days at Doral and messed up the weekend. But unless Retief makes a charge, which is probably the only guy I can imagine challenging him, Phil will probably defend.

if i was gonna put money on any1 catching him, my money would be on olazabal seeing how hes played so well over the last 2 weeks and came into form at the right time, but cant see any1 catching mickelson, but much stranger things have happened in golf.

I would, but he hardly ever ventures out of his comfort zone of the PGA Tour.

Few do apparently. His crowds are invariably the largest aside from Tiger's and possibly JD's.

The fire was put out on #18 today. Phil hit his approach in the water, took a drop, and hit his next shot in the water, too. Got a snowman hehe.

Phil probably would have hit a different wedge if he had it. He was using two drivers today and took a wedge out.

He'll get on fire again.
