Whoa!!! Augusta National

My son and I got back from a fantastic Thurs. and Fri. at the Masters. 80 to 85 degrees both days a bairly a cloud in the sky.

I thought that the 4th hole was going to be the big change.

No. It's 7. The tee is so far back. You stand behind and would swear the guys would have to walk single file down the fairway. It's that narrow. I was also shocked how many pull out the driver and then proceed to split the middle.

On 11 they have pushed the right side in quite far with a row of fresh planted pines. It's hard to tell how narrow because the gallery cannnot get to close to the first 300 yards of that fairway. I't all roped off. Lots of players hitting real long there though. My son and I spent a fair bit of time on the 14th green Thurs. and we would swing around to see the drives land on 11. They were crushing them.

On Friday they used the short tee on 4th. This is a tee that is even shorter than last years tee. It would be the tee the members use.

Number 1 is now a monster too. 331 to clear the right side bunker. The tee now almost touches the practice green!

We got to see two eagles too. We saw Tiger's shot on 14 and Justin Leonard holed out about a 75 yard shot on 13.

I thought Daily would have scored a bit better because any drive I saw him hit was down the middle. He was playing with a guy named Carl Petterson. Man that guy can tag it too.

This is the first time since 2001 that I have been going asnd not got wet. Perfect weather.
