Masters Winners Questions

Everyone talks about the Masters being a failure if Mickelson, Woods, and pershpas Singh, Goosen, or Els do not win. What about the following...

1. Couples or Olazabal (former winners)?

2. Furyk, Toms, or Love (1 time major winners) and Love is a native Georgian?

3. Garcia, Scott, Harrington (probably best players not to win a major thus far)?

What about Charlie 3 sticks? He's an Augusta native with plenty of game and distance. Only has one PGA win to date and shot +20 to BARELY miss the cut this year! Only Charles Coody who's like 300 years old had a higher two round score +24.

I'm sorry, GF, but I have never read or heard any respectable or serious golf writer, pundit or analyst make that contention.

Actually, Howell had a two day score of 164 (80-84) while Coody (89-74) had 163. Howell was alone in last.

I would guess the media. They seem to be (or think) they are everyone these days.

As BillyBogey5 said, the media. I should have clarified it. The media acts like they represent everyone. Of course, the Fair weather golf fans who are only into superstars.

Paddy Harrington is by far a more successful player on tour than Garcia OR Scott. I think Sergio is more hype than anything else, and Scott is the same. Paddy has been performing day in and day out. So to group Sergio and Scott amongst Paddy is a blow to Paddy.

Without a doubt Sergio is a great player. I just want to see him win a bit more and be in the hunt a bit more often. Adam Scott will never win a Major.

Except that both Sergio and Adam have more wins and a higher WGR than Paddy.

I'd love to see Colin Montgomerie in serious contention on Sunday afternoon.
