How right you are Mizuno. I see Darren Clarke has withdrawn from the Houston due to more news on his situation. Puts my bad shots in perspective.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Tiger and Clarke. I know what it's like to lose a loved one to cancer (my mom), and it's a special time you get to spend with them when it comes near the end. No matter how much you do or how much time you spend with them, after they are gone you always wish you'd have done more.

May God bless Earl and Mrs. Clarke and all their families, and give them peace during this time so that they may enjoy the time they have left.

I totally respect him and his decision. I would do the same. Hes very close to his father and wants to spend as much time with him as he can. Good idea on his part.

I'm sorry to hear about Tiger's Dad but what's the difference anyway? Even after his Dad dies or recovers he's hardly ever going to play. He's becoming a bit of a pretty boy if you ask me.

I think you have him all wrong. Once his Dad passes away and he has grieved, you'll see him start playing more than ever. He'll never play as much as VJ, but he'll be out there a few more times each year than he has been lately. Tiger's focus is on winning majors, and the other tourneys are ways to keep him sharp for the majors. He might not increase the number of "minor" PGA tourneys he plays - he may opt to play overseas more and rake in those appearance fees. Who knows? I don't think he could spend all the money he has right now, so he plays when he wants and where he wants. He's earned that right.

Good Decision, But

Tiger is putting family first. I hope that if things settle this season, he will play in some events he normally doesn't.

his dad has been suffering from this for a long long time. tiger has been doing what he needs to do which is playing golf and spending time with his father. since his father is getting worse and probably near death i think its only natural, and right for him to spend as much time as he can with him before he dies. im not sure calling him a pretty boy is exactly the correct term.

and thats from a person whos not a big tiger fan.

Many things have been said and will be said about Earl Woods, but there's no doubting this man's toughness as well as his service, which we see reflected in the son, whom he raised not just to be a fierce competitor but also to have a sense of responsibility, a desire to give something back, as reflected in the Tiger Woods Foundation. Earl is in my thoughts and prayers as he makes his way down what might be life's final fairway.

I don't think Tiger will ever play as much as VJ, I think Tiger wants to save his body from wear and tear so he can last longer.
