Justin Leonard? I saw the Top 20 Greatest Comebacks lastnight on ESPN and the 99 Ryder Cup was one of them. Leonard made a few statements on the show and it made me wonder what ever happened to him? Is he hurt? Did he retire (seems too young for that)? Does anyone know what happened to him?
He's still on tour. I pick him for my Yahoo Fantasy Golf (yes I am a golf geek) team whenever I feel his lack of length won't be a problem for him. But he's been missing cuts lately.
Justin is still on TOUR, playing as often as he ever has. He just doesn't contend very often these days...and it's a mystery. I'd love to see/hear a reporter query Justin as to a possible explanation. Personally, I think Justin looks disinterested out on the course.
His lack of power won't allow him to climb the leaderboard. Distance off of the tee these days is crucial in having a scoring iron in hand with the courses getting stretched out on an annual basis. He was and still is one of my favorite players.
Like I said, he won twice in 2005. I think that's contending. There's plenty who haven't won twice in their careers. Now, the person who is having trouble lately is VJ. Still good, but more is expected of him due to his ranking. Maybe age is starting to catch up with him.

The above statement couldn't be further from the truth. If you check the PGA TOUR's Driving Distance leaders you'll find that Justin is right there with Jim Furyk, Tim Clark and Scott Verplank.
I do not think anyone here needs to be reminded that short-hitting Tim Clark not only finished runner-up at this year's Masters, but he also finished tied 3rd at last year's U.S. Open at Pinehurst. There are other reasons for Justin Leonard's weak play of late.
Helo, my name is hackblack, and I am a stalker!!!!
Just kidding.
haha. But a long way from it. He's from the DFW area, like me. And my in-laws all played junior golf against him. Plue, the Nike R&D facility is in Fort Worth at the practice facility I use. All the golfers on the Nike staff, including Tiger and Michell Wie, occasionally visit, either to tweak their clubs or do a commercial.
Justin isn't as focused as he was before he got married. Life happens. Interestingly, he used to be one of those guys that was real slow to adopt new technology, he was one of the last guys to persimmon drivers on the tour.
