It's always cool to see a journeyman break through. Brett has played just about everywhere and has had more than his share of disappointments. But he has fought on and all that hard work is finally paying off. Great stuff.
I was actually pulling for Trevor Immelman. I like this guy a lot. He is humble, handsome and hard-working...with tons of talent. He's gonna be very good for a long time.

My sentiments, exactly. What fine young golfers we are seeing today! Just a great finish, and wonderful to see and hear Byron Nelson as well. What a guy.
Naturally I was pulling for Trevor Immelaman and was disappointed in his putting - however, he more than made up for it with impeccable behaviour and great temperament to make 4 on the last. Well done to Brett Wetterich it can't have been as easy as he made it look.

Which Trevor Immelman's swing he's eventually going to break through with a win. He just needs to make a few more putts and keep in the fairway in the heat of battle.
Yep,a well deserved win.He played solid the past 2 tourneys & it was only a matter of time before everything clicked. He picked a good time to win too, with all the coverage of byron nelson & all the work hes done.
There was a good shot of Wetterich walking off the green @ 18,chest out, walking tall, huge grin on his face.Top man !
It was a great show of golf, I think, even without any of the "big names" in the running. Some fine playing and great shots made. We've had what, 7 first time winners this year so far? Lots of new names to remember and watch for, and I think it's great!

Trevor's bearing and temperament are beyond reproach. You can clearly see that he respects the game and his opponents, and he takes his career very seriously. He is a credit to South African golf and I suspect his first PGA TOUR victory can not be too far away.
Wow Brett, isn't this the guy that not only missed the first nine cuts of the year but finished dead last almost every time?
Wrong guy, Bolt. Brett has actually had a pretty darned good year to this point...certainly by Brett Wetterich standards. He has three top tens...and one other Top 25...in just nine starts, and has jumped to 16th on the TOUR's money list.
You might be thinking of the young Australian, Steven Bowditch, who is unfortunately having a nightmarish rookie season.

Brett' is an example of a guy who's shown steady improvement over the past year or two. The last couple of tournaments he's had top 10 finishes. It just goes to show if you keep sticking your nose in at the top of the leaderboard and have some confidence in yourself eventually you are going to break through.
